Clinical Study Of Sanshengyin Compound On Treatment Of Malignant Neoplasm

ObjectiveThis study is about evaluating the safety and curative effect of Sanshengyin compound on malignant neoplasm patients.MethodsAccording to the inclusive criteria, patients with malignant tumors and fit the type of yang-def iciency and retention of phlegm and fluid were included into the study. They were given Chinese medicine decoction which included Sanshengyin compound. Patients completed the examination of electrocardiogram, cardiac enzymes, liver function, kidney function, electrolytes, blood routine and blood clotting function before and after the study. With these examinations, we evaluate the compound’s safety. Tumor markers and imaging diagnosis are used to evaluate the compound’s curative effect. EORTC QLQ-C30 scale and KPS score are used to evaluate its influence on development of patients’quality of lives. The relief of yang-deficiency symptoms and physical signs are another two indicators of the compound’s curative effect.Result30 patients were admitted into the research from 2013 Nov. to 2015 Dec. including 16 males and 14 females.16 patients induced adverse reaction, including symptoms like dizziness, numb, nausea and vomit, diarrhea and etc. No patient died during the research period.In terms of the ECG, heart enzymes, liver and kidney function, electrolytes, blood routine and blood coagulation, statistical analysis was carried on to campare the results before and after the treatment, which suggest the differences is not statistically significant (P＞0.05).In terms of the radiographic,20 patients rescanned the CT/MRI, the results suggested that 4 patients’(13.8%) tumor were PR,18 patient (62.0%) were SD and 9 patients (24.1%) were PD. In terms of the tumor markers,29 patients reexamined the tumor markers. The results suggested that 7 patients’(35.0%) tumor markers got decrease,4 cases (20%) were in stable situation and 9 patients’(45.0%) tumor makers got increase.In terms of the quality of live, the KPS score showed a significant difference between the beginning evaluations and the end ones. According to the EORTC Q0L-C30 scale, after the treatment, all sections except nausea and vomiting, diarrhea and financial difficulty have significant differences and the situation has been improved. The yang-deficiency with phlegm and fluid retention symptoms and physical signs also has been relieved.According to the research, we can draw the conclusion that the Sanshengyin compound may not have striking toxic effects. It may also have the function of delay the tumor’s progression and improve the patients’quality of lives, as well as relief the Yang-deficiency with phlegm and fluid retention situation.
