State Of Mental Health And Positive Psychological Intervention Among Late Trimester Pregnant Women

Objectives:To investigate the current state and influencing factors of the situation of mental health of late trimester pregnant women and analyze the correlation between subjective well-being with the situation of anxiety and depression.To explore the effect of positive psychological intervention on mental health of late trimester pregnant women and provide a new strategy to promote physical and psychological health of maternal and child.Methods:Late trimester pregnant women from a tertiary hospital in Yangzhou city Jiangsu province were investigated with demographic questionnaire,Self-Rating Anxiety Scale(SAS), Self-Rating Depression Scale(SDS) and General Well-being Schedule(GWB).The positive psychological intervention after several times discussions was used in late trimester pregnant women wtih anxiety or depression or in lower level of subjective well-being.The data was analyzed by SPSS 19.0 software. Descriptive statistics, nonparametric statistics, chi-square test, Spearman correlation analysis and multiple regression analysis were used in the process of analyzing.Results:1The situation of anxiety,depression and subjective well-being of late trimester pregnant women(1)There were 111 pregnant women with anxiety in 308 pregnant women (36.04%). There were 86 pregnant women with mild anxiety(27.92%),23 pregnant women with moderate anxiety(7.47%),2 pregnant women with serious anxiety(0.65%).The main influencing factors of anxiety in pregnant women were maternal education level,payment manner of the medical expenses and whether intended pregnancy.(2)There were 76 pregnant women with depression in 308 pregnant women (24.68%).There were 55 pregnant women with mild depression(17.86%),21 pregnant women with moderate depression(6.82%),0 pregnant women with serious depression(0.00%).The main influencing factors of depression in pregnant women were maternal age,parity,whether intended pregnancy and level of subjective well-being.(3)There were 29 pregnant women in lower level of subjective well-being in 308 pregnant women (9.42%) and 279 pregnant women in higher level of subjective well-being in 308 pregnant women (90.58%).The main influencing factors of subjective well-being in pregnant women were maternal education level, whether in-service staff,abortion history and level of depression.(4)Spearman correlation analysis showed that the subjective well-being score was negatively correlated to the scores of both anxiety and depression (P<0.05)2 The effect of positive psychological intervention on mental health of late trimester pregnant womenIn addition to energy dimension,the anxiety score,depression score and subjective well-being score and any dimensions in the intervention group decreased more significantly after the intervention compared with the control group,and the difference was statistically significant (P< 0.05).Conclusions:(1)The prevalence rates of anxiety and depression are high and the level of subjective well-being in late trimester pregnant women is higher than Chinese norm,but individual differences are obvious. The main influencing factors of anxiety in pregnant women were maternal education level,payment manner of the medical expenses and whether intended pregnancy. The main influencing factors of depression in pregnant women were maternal age,parity,whether intended pregnancy,and level of subjective well-being.The main influencing factors of subjective well-being in pregnant women were maternal education level, whether in-service staff,abortion history and level of depression.(2)The subjective well-being score was negatively correlated to the scores of both anxiety and depression.(3)The psychological intervention based on positive psychology can improve the anxiety, depression and subjective well-being and any dimensions expect energy dimension effectively.
