The Clinical Observation Of The Migraineurs Without Aura Who Treated By Balance Acupuncture Therapy Which Acupuncture Their Headache Acupoint

ObjectiveThis study aims to through the prospective, randomized, controlled study to observe the long-term(4 weeks) therapeutic effect and the influence of quality of life in migraineurs without aura with balance acupuncture which acupuncture their headache acupoint on both side, so that we could provide an effective treatment of traditional medicine for migraineurs without aura.MethodsThis study included in 40 migraineurs. They were randomly divided into headache acupoint group and fake acupoint group. Headache acupoint group was treated by balance acupuncture therapy, which acupuncture thier headache acupoint on both sides;Fake acupoint group used trocar to stimulate the fake acupoint, which is parallel to the headache acupoint and in the depression between the third and the forth metatarsophalangeal joint. Both group finished one course of treatment (4 weeks), including 20 times of acupuncture. We observed and compared the pretherapy and post-treatment of the frequency, the degree, the duration of headache and the incidental symptom between the two groups to make a conclusion of the efficacy. Meanwhile, we would analyze the influence of quality of life through MSQ after the treatment.ResultsThe grade of VAS in headache:after one course of treatment, the grade of VAS in headache has reduce in both groups (P<0.05). However, acupoint group is lower than fake acupoint(P＜0.05).The frequency of migraine attacks:after one course of treatment, the frequency of migraine attacks has reduce in acupoint group(P<0.05) but not in fake acupoint group,which make statistical differences between the two groups(P＜0.05).The duration of migraine:after one course of treatment, the duration of migraine has reduce in acupoint group(P<0.05) but not in fake acupoint group, which make statistical differences between the two groups(P<0.05).Accumulated points of headache:after one course of treatment, the accumulated points of headache acupoint group has reduce in acupoint group(P＜0.05) but not in fake acupoint group, which make statistical differences between the two groups(P＜0.05).The efficacy comparison:after one course of treatment,1 case had significant effect,14 cases were effectively in the total 19 cases in headache acupoint group.The total effective rate was 78.95%;Fake acupoint group had no cases of significant effect and 4 cases of effective in the total 19 cases in fake acupoint group. The total effective rate was 21.05%.There were statistically significant difference between the two groups(P<0.05).Migraine specific quality of life(MSQ):after one course of treatment, the grade of limitation of function and dysfunction has increase in acupoint group(P＜0.05), but there has no statistical differences in the grade of emotion. All of the three part of MSQ has no statistical differences in Fake acupoint group.The grade of limitation of function and dysfunction has statistical differences between the two groups(P<0.05),but not in the grade of emotion.ConclusionThis study discover that the long-term therapeutic effect in headache acupoint group is much better than the fake acupoint group through the observation of the therapeutic effect between the two groups which included 38 cases of migraineurs without aura. Based on the above results, the treatment of balance acupuncture which acupuncture the headache acupoint on both side do a good job in reducing the grade of VAS in headachethe, frequency of migraine attacks and duration of migraine, especially in the grade of VAS in headachethe. Headache acupoint group is much better than the fake acupoint group in improving the limitation of function and dysfunction...
