Observation On Long-term Efficacy And Quality Of Life Of Acupuncture And Moxibust Ion Combined With Acupoint Embedding Therapy On Allergic Rhinitis

Object iveAllergic rhinitis often break out repeatedly, deferment painless. By observing the long-term efficacy and the improvements of the quality of life of the acupoint embedding therapy, to provide a new therapy to treat with Allergic rhinitis.MethodsSixty-nine cases of patients were randomized into acupuncture and moxibustion group(n=33) and acupuncture, moxibustion and acupoint embedding group (n=36).2cases were dropped from the acupuncture and moxibustion group, and3cases were dropped from the acupuncture, moxibustion and embedding group. Finally,31cases were brought into acupuncture and moxibustion group, and33cases were brought into acupuncture, moxibustion and embedding group. Acupuncture and moxibustion group was treated with acupuncture at Yingxiang (LI20), Shangyingxiang(EX-HN8), Yintang(EX-HN3), Shangxing(DU23), Tongtian(BL7), Zusanli(ST36), and moxibusted at Zusanli (ST36), Feishu(BL13), Dazhui(DU14) and Fengmen(BL12). In acupuncture, moxibustion and acupoint embedding group, besides the same treatments in acupuncture and moxibustion group, the catgut was embedded in Feishu(BL13), Fengmen(BL12), Pishu(BL20), Shenshu(BL23), Zhongwan(RN13) and Qihai(RN7). Both of the groups were treated for4weeks. Before and after the treatment, and4weeks after the treatment, requested the patients to complete the allergic rhinitis curative effect evaluation table and the RQLQ.ResultIn acupuncture and moxibustion group, the semeiology scores of before and after the treatment effects, the effective, efficient and inefficient are respectively72.7(24/33),18.2%(6/33),9.1%(3/33); In acupuncture, moxibustion and acupoint embedding group, they are respectively72.7(24/33), 18.2%(6/33),9.1%(3/33), and we can not consider that the curative effect of the acupuncture, moxibustion and acupoint embedding group is superior to that in acupuncture and moxibustion group (P=0.076). Four weeks after the treatment, the effective, efficient and inefficient of Acupuncture and moxibustion group are respectively22.6%(7/31),51.2%(16/31),25.8%(8/31); In acupuncture, moxibustion and acupoint embedding group, they are respectively57.6(19/33),18.2%(6/33),24.2%(8/33), and the curative effect of the acupuncture, moxibustion and acupoint embedding group is superior to that in Acupuncture and moxibustion group (P<0.05). The RQLQ scores of both groups in all aspects improved after treatment and four weeks after treatment than those before treatment(P<0.01); Between the two groups, the improvements of acupuncture, moxibustion and acupoint embedding group is superior in sleep and emotion aspects than acupuncture and moxibustion group four weeks after treatments.ConclusionThe acupoint embedding therapy’s effects manifest more on long-term efficacy. Acupuncture and moxibustion combined with acupoint embedding therapy is safe and effective for allergic rhinitis. And it can improve life quality in some aspects as well.
