The Clinical Observation On Treating Knee Osteoarthritis (Wind Cold Wetness Syndrome) With Combined Wudeng Mixture Collapse Stains And Traditional Chinese Medicine By Oral

Objective: to evaluate the clinical effects and safety of combined Wudeng Mixture collapse stains with Chinese medicine by oral on treating knee osteoarthritis(wind cold wetness syndrome), and provide the clinical theory for knee osteoarthritis.Methods:72 patients with knee osteoarthritis(wind cold wetness syndrome) were randomly divided into two groups: 36 cases in control group,36 cases in treatment group. The control group was given Yuanqigutongding collapse stains and Chinese medicine(Hanshifang) by oral, the treatment group was given Wudeng Mixture collapse stains and Chinese medicine(Hanshifang) by oral. The one course of the treatment for both groups was 20 days. We observed that the variety of the TCM symptoms score, WOMAC, TNF-α,IL-1β,IL-6,CRP,ESR and adverse reactions before and after treatment, then do statistics analysis according to the correlative data. To evaluate the clinical effects and safety of combined Wudeng Mixture collapse stains with Chinese medicine by oral on treating knee osteoarthritis(wind cold wetness syndrome).Results:(1)Basic information: the differences was not statistically significant between the both groups in age, gender, course of disease, TCM symptoms score, WOMAC,TNF-α,IL-1β,IL-6,ESR,CRP before treatment( P > 0.05).( 2) TCM symptoms total score: the TCM symptoms total score of both groups after treatment was significantly improved(P<0.01),and the improvement of treatment group was better than control group(P<0.05).(3)TCM symptoms score: patients in both groups with joint pain(Patient?s VAS score,Doctor?s VAS score), joint swelling, morning stiffness, joint movement disorder, seeking-warm and aversion to cold were significantly relieved(P<0.01),and the joint pain(Patient?s VAS score,Doctor?s VAS score), joint movement disorder in treatment group were more relieved than control group(P<0.05).(4)TCM symptoms effect: the total effective rate of TCM symptom effect in treatment group was 96.96%,and in control group was 80%(P<0.05).The total effective rate of TCM symptom effect in treatment group was better than control group.(5)The score of WOMAC: the WOMAC of both groups were statistically improved than before treatment(P<0.01),and the improvement in treatment group was better than control group(P<0.05).(6)The score of symptoms of WOMAC: the symptoms of pain, stiffness and difficulty of daily activities in both groups were statistically improved than before treatment(P<0.01),and the pain and difficulty of daily activities in treatment group were more relieved than control group(P<0.05).(7)TNF-α、IL-1β、IL-6、CRP、ESR: the TNF-α,IL-1β,IL-6 of both groups were statistically decreased than before treatment(P<0.05),and the improvement in treatment group was better than control group(P<0.05).the CRP of the treatment group was decreased more obviously than before treatment(P<0.05),but the CRP of the control group was not decreased more obviously than before treatment(P>0.05),so the treatment group had obvious effect in improving inflammatory indexes. Both groups had no effect in decreasing ESR(P>0.05).(8)Patients in both groups with blood, urine, routine, liver and kidney function during the period of observation has not been found abnormal,the difference was not statistically significant after treatment(P>0.05).(9)During treatment, the two groups were no serious adverse reactions.Conclusions: The syndrome of knee osteoarthritis(wind cold wetness syndrome) with joint pain, joint swelling, morning stiffness, joint movement disorder, seeking-warm and aversion to cold, and difficulty of daily activities can be relieved by combined Wudeng Mixture collapse stains and Chinese medicine by oral. And the syndrome of joint pain, movement disorder and difficulty of daily activities in treatment group were more relieved than control group. The clinical effect in treatment group was better than control group. The treatment group had obvious effect in improving inflammatory indexes, and the effect in treatment group was more obvious than control group. Wudeng Mixture collapse stains is effective and safe on treating knee osteoarthritis(wind cold wetness syndrome),which provides practical value to clinical application.
