Research purpose:To analyze the cesarean section rate of a Weifang’s district hospital over the recent five years; to explore changes of surgical indications, surgical indication constituent ratio and surgical indication ranking of cesarean section; to discuss changes of surgical indications of cesarean section and factors influencing its proportion.Research significance:This research studied changes of the cesarean section rate of a Weifang’s district hospital over the recent five years, and compared and analyzed changes of surgical indications, surgical indication constituent ratio and surgical indication ranking of cesarean section, so it could fully reflect the childbirth status and the indication changes of cesarean section in the hospital, provide references for formulating measures to reduce the cesarean section rate, offer reliable data to rationalize and standardize the selection of delivery manners, and seek bases for efficient measures which can reduce the cesarean section.Research methods:Collected and summarized delivery cases in a Weifang’s district hospital from 2010 to 2014; analyzed and compared changes of the cesarean section rate and the constituent ratio of cesarean section over the recent five years; and adopted SPSS2.0 for data analysis.Results:Results:1) The annual cesarean section rate of the hospital was high, averaged at 63.06% and ranging within 58.75%~67.73%. The downward trend of the cesarean section could not deny the high annual cesarean section rate.2) Analysis of indications of the cesarean section:Major constituents of surgical indications of cesarean section over the recent five years included social factors, fetal distress in uterus, scarred uterus, cephalopelvic disproportion and fetal macrosomia.3) As to the changing trend of the surgical indication constituent ratio, social factors were on an annual downward trend, and fell to No.6 in 2014; scarred uterus was on an upward trend, and rose to No.1 in 2014. All the remaining indications floated up and down. Conclusions:The high cesarean section rate has aroused public attention. Measures adopted in recent years have shown some positive effects, with the cesarean section rate and social factors both on the downward trend. However, the family planning policy on which China relaxes control might make the indication of scarred uterus stay at a high level. Therefore, to reduce the first-time cesarean section is the top priority.
