Clinical Efficacy Of Anatomic Locking Plate For The Treatment Of Type â…¢ Pilon Fractures

Objective: To investigate the clinical effect of anatomical locking plate reduction and internal fixation in the treatment of distal tibial fractures of type Ⅲ Pilon.Methods: This study is a retrospective analysis in December 2011 to 2015 March of Xinjiang Medical University, the Fifth Affiliated Hospital of orthopedic ward surgical treatment and follow-up of 43 cases of III type of distal tibial Pilon fractures in patients with clinical data. To compare the curative effect of 15 cases of the treatment group and 28 cases of the treatment group treated by internal fixation with anatomical locking plate reduction and internal fixation. According to the patient’s fracture displacement and soft tissue injury situation to develop individualized treatment programs, as far as possible to reduce the treatment of distal tibial fractures of type III Pilon complications. Follow up 6-18 months, average 12.14±3.03 months. Comparative analysis of the general data of the two treatment groups, the postoperative clinical observation index, ankle joint function recovery and image, reduction of the fracture criteria for evaluating, sums up the advantages of anatomical locking plate and provide a reference for anatomical locking plate in the treatment of distal tibial type III Pilon fracture.Results: In this study, the clinical therapeutic effects of treatment of the two groups were retrospectively observed and analyzed statistically and compared between the two groups of patients with general information(gender, age, follow-up time) had no significant difference(P> 0.05). In the two treatment groups at admission to the operation time, bleeding quantity is, there was no significant difference(P> 0.05); in on wound healing, early activity time, fracture healing time. It is found that the anatomic locking plate in the treatment group was better than that of ordinary steel group, between the two groups were statistically significant(P< 0.05). In terms of the evaluation of radiological reduction criteria Baird ankle joint scoring system and Burwell-Charnley system, find anatomical locking plate treatment group was better than that of ordinary steel group, there was statistically significant between the two groups(P<0.05).Conclusion: the III type of distal tibial Pilon fracture according to distal tibial stem epiphyseal end of bone and joint flour broken and soft tissue injury of different degree, we realized that the rational improvement of soft tissue conditions, appropriate choice of surgical timing, applied anatomy of locking plate internal fixation with wound healing well, early time, fracture healing, fracture treatment, the excellent and good rate was high, it is worth of clinical application.
