Assistive technology service is a core rehabilitation service provided by the Beijing Disabled Persons’ Federation(BDPF). During the 12 th Five-Year plan period, BDPF has greatly improved the number of assistive technology service and the use of assistive technology service by taking a series of steps, for example, making policy for assistive technology service, training personnel, promoting the fund of assistive technology service, and establishing service agencies. However, the awareness of the need for supporting technology is not strong, a large number of assistive appliances are in the abandoned state. Researchers found that the relevant institutions(e.g. the Disabled Persons’ Federation as a leading orgnization) had paid less attention to a disabled person’s attitude towards assistive technology, especially the impact of auxiliary appliances on the disabled person’s psychology. The hearing aids is one of the most common assistive technology, and the attitude of the hearing aids impact social activities.Objective:Drawing on the theoretical framework of attitude structure, this study aim to describe the status of the attitude of the hearing aids for 16-59 year-old persons with hearing disability. By analyzing different gender, age, marital status, education background, disability grade, the first time matching age, use method of mastery, degree of attention to policy guarantee, origin as influencing factors associated with the attitude of the hearing aids for the persons with hearing disability, in order to change the disabled persons’ cognition about auxiliary technology. It is vital and essential that the scientific and correct view should be established among the disability.Methods:With stratified sampling, the study utilized “the persons with hearing disability on the use of hearing aids attitudes questionnaire”. 310 hearing disabilities of 16 districts in Beijing were administered in this study. All data is analyzed by SPSS17.0. The specific statistical approaches are as follows: descriptive analysis, t-test, ANOVA, χ2-test.Results:1. There is significant difference in the cognitive and behavior tendency scores among hearing disability from different regions(cognitive P < 0.001; behavior tendency P=0.018). Citizens are more likely to be higher level of cognition and behavior tendency than suburb people.2. A significantly difference between the age and the attitude scores(P<0.001). With the increase of the age, the cognitive and behavior tendency level are getting drop. The affect score is the highest score at the age of 26-35.3. The different marital status have differences in their cognitive and behavior tendency scores(P<0.001).The affect score have no significant difference(P=0.05).4. There is significant difference in attitude scores among hearing disability from different education background(cognitive P<0.001;affect P=0.003;behavior tendency P<0.001).With the increase of the educational level, cognition and behavior tendency level are getting up, the affect score is the highest score in the high school stage.5. A significantly difference between the first time matching age and the attitude scores(cognitive,affect,behavior tendency P<0.001). The earlier use the hearing aids, the higher the level of cognition and behavior tendency; the affect level is higher, the persons used the hearing aids before 12 years old.6. A significantly difference between use method of mastery and the attitude scores(cognitive P<0.001;affect P=0.018;behavior tendency P<0.001).7. There is significant difference in attitude scores among hearing disability from different usage mastery(cognitive,behavior tendency P<0.001; affect P=0.001), the more familiar method, the higher the attitude scores.8. There is significant difference in attitude scores among hearing disability from different degree of attention to policy guarantee(P<0.001). The higher attention, the higher the level of attitude.9. There is no significant difference in attitude scores among hearing disability from different gender and disability grade(P>0.05).10. A significantly difference between age and hearing aid fitting priorities(P<0.001).“Function”and “appearance” are preferred at the age of 16-25,“function”and “service” are preferred at the age of 26-35,“price” and “service” are preferred at the age of 36-45, “price” and “appearance” are preferred at the age of 46-55,“price” is preferred at the age of 46-59.11. The important ways to provide instructions are the Beijing Disabled Persons’ Federation and the manufacturer.Conclusion:1.Influence factor include with origin, age, marital status, education background, for the first time matching age, use method of mastery, degree of attention to policy guarantee.2.While the hearing disabilitis were fitting hearing aid,they had different performance.young people cared about “function”and “appearance”, with the increase of the age, the hearing disability over the age of 36 cared about “price”.3.The important ways to provide instructions are the Beijing Disabled Persons’ Federation and the manufacturer.
