Objectives Hehuang Valley, one of the northern regions in Qinghai province, where has a sharply incidence rate of gastric cancer. It is very meaningful and important to study the mechanism of the occurrence and development of gastric cancer in this region. In order to understand the occurrence and development of gastric cancer clearly, we are going to detect the expression of EGFR, Her-2 and VEGF in the tumor tissue and the corresponding para-tumor tissue of the patients with gastric cancer from Hehuang Valley, and also to discuss the relationship between the above factors and the clinicopathological features of gastric cancer. Methods 60 cases of patients with gastric cancer from Hehuang Valley were recruited in this study. Immunohistochemical method(Power Vision two step method) were applied to detect the expression of EGFR, Her-2 and VEGF in the tumor tissue samples and the corresponding para-tumor tissue samples. Therefore, the co-relationship of between the expression of EGFR, Her-2, VEGF and the clinicopathological features of gastric cancer in Hehuang Valley are analyzed. Results There are significant differences in the expression of EGFR, Hers-2 and VEGF in gastric cancer tissues and corresponding para-tumor tissues(P<0.01). No correlation in the expression of EGFR, Hers-2 and VEGF in gastric cancer tissues with patients’ gender, age, tumor size and tumor location(P>0.05), but the expression of EGFR, Hers-2 and VEGF in gastric cancer tissues are correlated positively with the tumor differentiation, lymph node metastasis, distant metastasis, infiltration depth and TNM stage(P<0.05,P<0.01).Expression of EGFR, Hers-2 and VEGF is positively correlated in cancer tissue.( P<0.01).Conclusions It is clearly that there are high expression level of EGFR, Hers-2 and VEGF in gastric cancer tissues, and also the expression of EGFR, Hers-2 and VEGF in patients with gastric cancer in Hehuang Valley are closely correlated with tumor differentiation, proliferation and metastasis, still then, there are a obviously synergy between EGFR, Hers-2 and VEGF in occurrence and development of gastric cancer in Hehuang Valley.
