Yuhu Soup (Ginseng Fang And Codonopsis Fang) Pharmacodynamic Study On Db/db Mice

Objective To study the Pharmacodynamic effects of Yuhu Soup (Ginseng Fang and codonopsis Fang) on treating diabetes mellitus in db/db mice, to explore mechanisms for the treatment of diabetes mellitus, to observe efficacy of Yuhu Soup Ginseng Fa ng and Yuhu Soup codonopsis Fang and provide pharmacodynamical basis for further development and clinical application of Yuhu soup.Methods Forty spontaneous type2 diabetes mellitus db/db mice aged 12 weeks with gl ucose level over 16.Tmmol·L-1 were randomly divided into model group, Yuhu Soup Ginseng Fang group,Yuhu Soupcodonopsis Fang group and Xiaoke pills group. Ten wi Id type male db/db mice were served as normal control group. All drugs were adimin istered by intragastric administration (i.g.).The normal control group and the model gr oup were given the same amount of distilled water for 8 weeks. Weight each db/db mice every two weeks. Fix the quantity of feed and water each group, after 24h, Wei ght the remaining, calculate the average feed and water intake of each db/db mice gro up every two weeks. Cut the tail to check the blood glucose after drugs for 4 weeks and 8 weeks. After medication with the corresponding for 8 weeks, Measure body le ngth of mice, waist circumference, calculated the ratio of body length/Waist. Detect th e blood glucose, TC, TG, HDL-C, LDL-C, SOD, MDA, IL-6, cAMP, INS. Shearing o f the pancreas, do pancreatic pathology examination. Data processing use SPSS v17.0 statistical software.Results Compared with the model group, the levels of glucose, TC,TG, cAMP, IL-6 were decreased; SOD activities, insulin level were increased and can relieve thirst in Yuhu Soup Ginseng Fang group and Yuhu Soup Codonopsis Fang group.Yuhu Soup Ginseng Fang has significant role reduceing MDA, but Yuhu Soup Codonopsis Fang don’t have significant effect.Conclusion Yuhu Soup Ginseng Fang and Yuhu Soup Codonopsis Fang have good t reatment effects on type2 diabetes mellitus mainly through protecting β cells, increasin g insulin secretion, enhanceing resistance to Oxidative Stress, improving insulin resista nce and lipid metabolism. Yuhu Soup Ginseng Fang and YuhuSoup Codonopsis Fang have no significant difference between curative effects.
