Background:Class Ⅰ:Neutrocclusion:molar relationship is normal in the occlusion or as described for the maxillary first molar, but the other teeth have problems such as spacing, over or under eruption crowding or cross bite. Or in other words we can say that a Class Ⅰ malocclusion will have a proper 1st molar relationship but there will be dental crowding or rotations that classifies it as a malocclusion. A large majority of patients fall into this category.Method:This article reports the successful treatment of class lmalocclusion using MBT in conjunction with class Ⅱ elastics. A female patient 21 years old, presented to the orthodontic department with chief complaint of crooked teeth. She was diagnosed as class Ⅰ malocclusion with deep bite. Results:Twenty eight months later of active treatment the unilateral class Ⅱ canine relationship and deep bite was corrected and anterior crowding was relieved and good occlusion was achieved.Discussion:Management of class 1 cases are comparatively easy to correct until and unless there is an enormous space -arch length discrepancy like in a collapsed arch or the one with multiple rotated teeth or multiple teeth at different angulations within the arch, for instance teeth too proclined or retroclined in an arch. If so Such cases need perfect planning before pursuance the treatment to prevent anchorage loss. Another important point in management of such cases is the time needed for the treatment as prolonged time of treatment with fixed mechano-therapy might cause apical root resorption. Wemust concentrate on correction of the malocclusion within the less optimum time as much as possible. Conclusion:The malocclusion in our case was a simple case of anterior crowding with deep bite and was effectively dealt with routine archwire treatment using MBT appliance involving power chains and elastics.
