Clinical Overview Of Deep Overbite Malocclusion Diagnosis, Treatment Planning And Management Techniques

Different etiologies are related to the deep overbite malocclusion. The treatment plan depends upon the severity and the age of the patient deepbite overbite. Deep overbite might involve a specific group of teeth or the whole dentition.Varied treatment methods were developed to treat deepbite,but no particular method can be considered the best. Optimal correction of deepbite requires accurate diagnosis, treatment planning and efficient use of the suitable treatment mechanics. This clinical review we are discussing the classification of deepbite malocclusion, the characteristics of deebite whether they are dental or skeletal. In addition to few important points about diagnosis, and paying the attention to some basics in the management of this malocclusion according to the stage of the dentition and the techniques being used. In this thesis five cases with deep overbite malocclusion are included, and illustrating in detail the treatment procedure followed for the sake of correcting the deep overbite and achieving a harmonious and balanced occlusion.
