Study Of TCM Constitutional Types And Clinical Syndromes In Patients With T2DM In Taicang LiuHe Area

Objective:1.Realizing the type 2 diabetes mellitus’TCM constitutional types and clinical syndromes and pursuing the relation among constitutional types, syndromes,other factors and Type 2 diabetes mellitus by investigating multi-factors in 478 type 2 diabetes mellitus patients.In order to provide evidence for the prevent and treatment of the type 2 diabetes mellitus.Methods:1.Collecting 478 type 2 diabetes mellitus patients’TCM constitutional types and clinical syndromes by questionnaires. Realizing the distribution of the TCM constitutional types and clinical syndromes by statistics analyzing the information above.Results:1. The main constitutional types of type 2 diabetes mellitus patients are qi-deficiency type,84 cases(17.6%),phlegm-damp and blood stasis type,37cases(7.7%),phlegm-damp type, 34 cases (7.1%), qi-deficiency and phlegm-damp type,25 cases (5.2%), yin-deficiency and blood stasis type,23cases (4.8%),damp-heat type and blood stasis type,21 cases (4.4%).2. The highest percentage of the constitutional types of T2DM patients are pure qi-deficiency type and qi-deficiency combinating type,occupying 35.4%. Pure qi-deficiency type occupies the highest percentage,49.7% in qi-deficiency combinating type.3.Among the TCM clinical syndromes, 33cases(6.9%)of syndrome of liver-kidney-yin deficiency,103cases(21.5%)of qi and yin deficiency syndrome,7cases(1.5%) of syndrome of consumption of fluid due to intense heat,74cases(15.5%)of syndrome of binding of phlegm (damp)and heat, deficiency syndrome of both yin and yangoccupys 12 (2.5%),234 (49.0%)of types combined by blood stasis and the types combined by phlegm turbidity syndrome have 15 (3.1%).4. The patients’factors,such as Body Mass Index(BMI),sex,age,the length of course and past history affects the distribution of TCM constitutional types and clinical syndromes.Conclusions:1.The main constitutional types of T2DM patients are qi-deficiency type,phlegm-damp and blood stasis type, phlegm-damp type, qi-deficiency and phlegm-damp type,yin-deficiency and blood stasis type and phlegm heat and blood stasis type.2. The basic constitutional types of T2DM patients is qi-deficiency type and phlegm-damp type.3. Among the TCM syndromes of patients with T2DM,maximum in the combinating types is which combined by blood stasis type.4. The patients’factors, such as BMI,sex, age, the length of course and past history affects the distribution of TCM constitutional types and clinical syndromes.This conclusion provides the objective evidence for the prevent, the care and management of health, the clinical syndrome differentiation and treatment of T2DM.
