Meta Analysis For Curative Effection About Adenoidectomy In The Treatment Of Children With Chronic Rhinosinusitis

Objective：To evaluate the correlation between adenoidectomy and children withchronic rhinosinusitis by systematic evaluation method through meta analysis.Methods：According to the method of literature searching，relevant randomizedcontrolled trials (RCTs) about curative effection of adenoidectomy in treatment ofchildren with chronic rhinosinusitis were searched in Web of Science， PubMed，Cochrane library， China Knowledge Resource Integrated Database (CNKI) andWan Fang Databases from inception to December，2014，with hand searchingassited.All literatures are screened according to inclusion and exclusion criteria.，tworesearchers evaluated the qualities of literature independed，after extracting andcross-checking the data stata12.1MPwas used for meta-analysis.Results：32RCTs were enrolled， there were3254patients in total. The resultsof meta-analysis showed that in the patients with both chronic sinusitis and adenoidhypertrophy the efficiency of adenoidectomy were higher than the simpleapplication of drug treatment（OR=6.19，95%CI：5.03，7.62，P=0.00，I2=39.4%）.There were2reports with postoperative runny nose，nasal obstruction， headache，hyposmia VAS symptom score involved in the study.3reports with postoperativeOverall symptom VAS symptom score.The result shows that the improvement ofrunny nose after adenoidectomy is better than simple drug treatment group（WMD=-1.81，95%CI：-2.33，-1.29，P=0.00）.The improvement of nasalobstructionc after adenoidectomy is better than simple drug treatment group（WMD=-1.62，95%CI：-2.16，-1.09，P=0.00).The improvement of headache afteradenoidectomy is better than simple drug treatment group(WMD=-1.30，95%CI：-1.77，-0.82，P=0.00).There is no different about hyposmia between adenoidectomyand simple drug treatment group(WMD=-0.09，95%CI：-0.66，-0.48，P=0.75).Theimprovement of Overall symptom after adenoidectomy is better than simple drugtreatment group(WMD=-0.99，95%CI：-1.20，-0.77，P=0.00).Conclusion：There is correlation between adenoidectomy and children withchronic rhinosinusitis.In the patients with both chronic sinusitis and adenoid hypertrophy the efficiency of adenoidectomy were higher than the simpleapplication of drug treatment. After adenoidectomy the improvement of runny nose，nasal obstruction， headache， Overall symptom is better than simple drug treatment.There is no different about hyposmia between adenoidectomy and simple drugtreatment group.
