The Effect Of Yiqi Tongqiao Method Combined With Adenoidectomy On The Olfactory Function Of Children With Adenoid Hypertrophy

Purpose:To observe the effect of Yiqi Tongqiao with olfactory function and appetite adenoidectomy.Materials and methods: from October 2015 to December 2017,54 cases of children with adenoidal hypertrophy underwent subnasal adenoidectomy through nasal cavity and were eligible for the study.The age was between 4~12 years old.According to the random table method,they were randomly divided into treatment group and control group,27 cases in each group.The control group received adenoidectomy and postoperative routine treatment with Qi medicine began Tongqiao Decoction in the treatment group based on the control group after 1weeks(2G,9g,Xanthium windproof Astragalus 15 g,angelica 6G,Magnolia 2G,Atractylodes9 g,mint 3G,Shichangpu 3G),period of treatment was 15 days.After 3 months of follow-up.Two groups of children with adenoidal hypertrophy were performed pre and post nasal olfactory test,visual analogue scale(VAS)score and nasal ventilation test board respectively.Result:1.the data of sex and age in two groups of children showed no significant difference(P >0.05).2.there was no statistically significant difference in nose preolfactory threshold,post nasal olfactory threshold,appetite VAS score and nasal ventilation plate between pre operation group and control group(p>0.05).3.after 3 months,there was a significant difference in the average threshold of nasal olfactory sense between the treatment group and the control group(P<0.05).4.after 3 months,there was a significant difference between the treatment group and the control group on the average threshold of the nasal olfactory(P<0.05).5.after 3 months,there was a significant difference in the VAS score between the treatment group and the control group(p<0.05).6.after 3 months,there was no significant difference in the mean of nasal ventilation measurement between the treatment group and the control group(p>0.05).7.The increase of appetite VAS before and after operation in 6.children was correlated with the changes of the threshold of nose and posterior olfactory(r=0.334,P=0.014)(r=0.574,p=0.000).Conclusion:1.adenoidectomy can improve the olfactory function of children with adenoid hypertrophy.2.Yiqi Tongqiao combined adenoidectomy in the sense of smell and appetite is a simple application of adenoidectomy has significant curative effect.3.Yiqi Tongqiao nasal ventilation combined adenoidectomy and adenoidectomy surgery can be improved,but there is no significant difference in the 3 months after surgery,two groups of nasal ventilation function,which shows that the two are equivalent efficacy.4.adenoid hypertrophy children have less nasal ventilation than normal children,resulting in olfactory dysfunction,which affects the appetite of the children.
