Objective:To compare Endoscopic-assisted Transoral Adenoidectomy (ETA) and traditional Transoral Curette Adenoidectomy(TCA). Method: Clinical data of 174 cases with adenoid hypertrophy who were performed Endoscbpic- assisted Transoral Adenoidectomy or traditional Transoral Curette Adenoidectomy were studied . The effective rate of snoring, hearing , nasal obstruction and residual of adenoid were compared. Result: The effective rate of nasal obstruction in ETA group was higher than that in TCA group (P< 0.0 5) with following-up 3—12 months. Residual adenoid was found in 6 cases in TCA group and none in ETA group. Conclusion: Endoscopic-assisted transoral adenoidectomy provides a direct and clear view that allows the surgeon to remove adenoid tissue accurately and effectively.
