Correlation Of Adenoidectomy And Chronic Rhinosinusitis In Adolescent And Children

ObjectiveTo calculate the incidence of chronic rhinosinusitis in adolescent and children with adenoid hypertrophy and study the theraptic effect of adenoidectomy on adenoid hypertrophy children with chronic rhinosinusitis.Discuss the influencing factors on the results.MethodsCollect the clinical files,physical examination results and sinuses CT of 228 adenoid hypertrophy children in this study.And calculate the incidence of chronic rhinosinusitis.Separate 123 children into two groups.41 cases received conservative treatment;82 cases received surgery.Conservative group got antibiotics 4 weeks,agent promoting mucosa exclution 4 weeks,intranasal hormone therapy for 2 months.There were 42 cases undergoing medical treatment(as the conservative group)and operation, 40 cases undergoing adenoidectomy only in surgery group.Life quality evaluation lists for children with chronic rhinosinusitis were fulfilled before and after the treatment after 6 months follow up.ResultsThe incidence of chronic rhinosinusitis is 53.9%.There were significant differences in the efficacies between the conservative group and the surgery group(P＜0.05),no significant differences was found between adenoidectomy plus medical treatment and adenoidectomy only(P＞0.05).There were significant differences between little age group and age group(P＜0.05).Conclusion Adenoid hypertrophy induce edema and obstruction,finally cause chronic rhinosinusitis.The incidence of chronic rhinosinusitis is 53.9%in this study.The surgical procedures of adenoidectomy treatment are the most effective method for the treatment of adenoid hypertrophy children with chronic rhinosinusitis.The children is younger,the result is better.
