Combined withoverall literature research and clinical practice, Professor Sun Shuchen established sequential therapy of traditional Chinese medicine for treating allergic rhinitis. Objective:At present, the sequential therapy of traditional Chinese medicinecan improvethe symptoms of patients with chronic simple rhinitis, sleep apnea comninedwith pulmonary aggregates thermal type patients with nasal smothering, and lung by the wind heat type of acute nose-sinusitis in different degrees.Inthis paper, the aim is to observe and evaluatethe clinical effect of sequential therapy of traditional Chinese medicine inpatients with lung-deficiency-related cold allergic rhinitis.Method:Ninetyoutpatientswere enrolled in this study. All of them are eligibility for the TCM diagnosis of lung-deficiency-related coldallergic rhinitis. They were randomly divided into sequential therapy group, the traditional oral TCM group and oral antihistamines group. In sequential therapy group, the patientsreceivedTCM fumigation plus oral TCM twice/day, for 2 weeks. In traditional oral TCM groups, the patientsonly received oral TCM twice/day, for 2 weeks. In oral antihistamines group, the patientsreceivedone tabletof loratadine once/day, for 2 weeks.Nasal endoscopic examination, nasal cavity, situation evaluation, and VAS scale were evaluatedin 0 day and 14 day.Result:Insequential therapy group, traditional oral TCM group, and oral antihistamines group, the total effective rate were 87%,88.9%, and 87.5%, respectively..There is no statistically differentefficiency in three groups. The nasal congestion, sneezing, runny nose, nasal itching, and the integral distribution of eye itch are significantly different in three groups both before and after treatment,in (p<0.05), but there is not significantly different in the improvementofdysosmia in three groups. The changes of the visual analog scale integration about severity of diseaseis not significantly different inthree groups, but there is significant differences before and after treatment in each group (p<0.05).There is significant difference in the improvement of stuffy nose, runny nose and itchy eyes symptoms between sequential therapy group and the traditionaloral TCM group (p<0.05), and the symptoms integraland visual simulation integral is lower in sequential therapy group than that in traditional oral TCM group.Conclusion:1. The efficacy of sequential therapy, the traditional oral TCM and oral antihistamines are certain, but there is no significant difference in three groups. There is no significant difference in total effective rate.2. The symptomof nasal congestion, sneezing, runny nose, nasal itching, and eye itch have improved in different degrees in sequential therapy group, the traditional oral TCM group, and oral antihistamines group, but the improvement of dysosmiais not significant.3. The improvement ofsymptomsabout stuffy nose, runny nose and itchy eyesis better in sequential therapy group than that in the traditional oral TCM group.4.The improvement about hyperemia swelling of turbinate mucosa is better in sequential therapy group than that in the traditional oral TCM group by the examination of nasal endoscope.5. The percentage of eosinophil count in nasal secretion decreased in all patients after treatment.6. There are no adverse eventsin sequential therapy group. In this condition, this therapy is safe and effective.
