Chinese Medicine Clinical Studies Of Sequential Therapy In Chronic Simple Rhinitis

Chronic Simple Rhinitis belongs to nasal obstruction in TCM terms. It canobstruct the breath from both or either of the apertur a nariums and even lose therhinesthesia, at last can hardly recover. The symptoms will become abatement oraggravation at different times and attack recurrently. Traditional Chinese Medicineconsidered the etiopathogenisis is heat, weakness and stagnation . This article brieflysummaried the substance about Chronic Simple Rhinitis, after reviewing considerablecorrelated medical literatures from both Chinese and Western medicine fields in recentten years. Besides, this article also introduced different kin ds of treatments to relievethe symptoms and explained their advantages and disadvantages. There were internaland external medical herbs therapy such as oral administration; nasal drip, blow andsuppository; fumigating and ultrasonic nebulization , acupuncture therapy andphysiotherapy, etc. This clinical research was on the base of TCM sequential therapy,which professor Sun Shuchen advocated. We applied the vapor to fumigate nosewhile boiling the herbs, then drink the herbal medicine to treat the Chroni c SimpleRhinitis. At the same time, BiYuanTongTiao granula group was regarded as thePositive control group.Objective To investigate the clinical effect of using TCM sequential therapy to treatthe Chronic Simple Rhinitis, and compared with BiYuanTongTiao granula group.Methods Positive control research.48 patients according with internalize standardwere divided into two groups randomly: treatment group (TCM sequential therapygroup) 24 cases; positive control group(BiYuanTongTiao granula group)24 cases.We regarded 2 weeks as a course of treatment. On the basis of the clinical symptomand physical sign both before and after treatment,we gave each patient correspondingscore. SAS8.2 statistics software was used to analysis the score, which each patientgot before and after treatment. Then we analyzed the results and gained conclusion.Results: There is a significant difference between prior-treatment and post-treatmentin treatment group (p<0.01). The effect of post-treatment is better than prior-treatmentin treatment group. There is a significant difference between prior-treatment andpost-treatment in control group (p<0.01). The effect of post-treatment is better thanprior-treatment in control group. There is a significant difference between treatmentgroup and control group after post-treatment (p<0.05). The effect of treatment group isbetter than control group after post-treatment. There is a significant differencebetween the two groups (p<0.05), after comparing the two group's nasal obstructionand nasal mucosa haematodes scores respectively. The effect of treatment group isbetter than control group. There is a significant difference between the two groups of mild and middle degree(p 0.05). The effect of treatment group is better than controlgroup. There is no significant difference between the two groups ofsevere degree(p 0.05). The two groups have the same effect in severe degree.Conclusion The way that Use the vapor to fumigate nose while boiling the herbs,then drink the herbal medicine to treat the Chronic Simple Rhinitis has better effectthan BiYuanTongTiao granula positive control group, especially in improving the nasalobstruction.
