Objective: To measure the level of job burnout among librarians in Urumqi and its influential factors, analyze the relationship of job satisfaction, social support, cope style and job burnout, in order to offer the suggestions to reduce the librarians’ job burnout.Methods:500 librarians in Urumqi were sampled with cluster randomly methods. Chinese Maslach Burnout Inventory, Satisfaction Questionnaire, Social Support Rating Scale and Simplified Coping Style Scale were examined in 500 librarians. Results:⑴The detection rate of job burnout in librarians is 80.7%.Among them the light and moderate job burnout had higher detection rate which is 43.4% and 33.62%.The detection rate of emotional exhaustion, depersonalization and diminished personal accomplishment were13.6%,42.7% and 66.1%.⑵The demographic data showed that there were significant kind differences in scores of job burnout and the gender, position, nature of employment,whether have a second job(P<0.05). In terms of job satisfaction, there were significant differences in whether have a second job. There were significant differences between social support and gender,nationality,age,title, education, employment nature, marital status(P<0.05).There were significant differences between positive coping style and gender,title,employment nature, whether have a second job( P<0.05). ⑶ There were negative correlations between job burnout and job satisfaction, social support, positive coping(P<0.01). There were positive correlations between job burnout and negative coping(P<0.01).⑷Multiple regression shows, the main influence factors of job burnout were job satisfaction, cope style and social support. The total contribution rate is34.1%.Conclusion: Job burnout among librarians in Urumqi are serious so we should provide the effective preventive measures.
