ObjectiveBy applying simple randomized-contrast study ways, via massage therapy combining three acupoints of shoulder group and three acupoints of shoulder via warm acupuncture group as a control group, combining three acupoints of shoulder acupuncture as the Treatment group; three groups comparatively study the treatment, accessing joint mobilization combining three acupoints of shoulder treatment on frozen shoulder syndrome in order to explore on its efficiency.MethodCases sourced from the treatment of acupuncture and massage therapy on frozen shoulder patients of Guangzhou University (First Affiliated) Hospital effective from November 2013 to February 2015 with a total of 75 cases; according to 1:1:1 ratio simply randomized it into Treatment Group, Control Group 1 and Control Group 2 with 25 cases for each group. Treatment group applies combination of joint mobilization with three acupoints of shoulder treatment. It initially apply acupuncture treatment, by determining Jianzhen, Jianyu, Jianqian as primary points, according to cases add in or bypass support points, then apply joint mobilization treatment, respectively applying techniques such as separation traction, long axis traction, flexion slide, swing abduction, internal rotation swing, external rotation swing and horizontal adduction swing etc; Control Group 1 apply massage combining three acupoints of shoulder treatment, it initially apply acupuncture treatment, determining acupoint same as the treatment group, then undergo massage via method such as kneading, rib rotation and dithering etc; Control Group 2 apply three acupoints of shoulder via warm acupuncture treatment, it applies on acupoint same as the treatment group, apply warm acupuncture method on primary points after acupuncture. All the patients shall be treated once every next day,10 times as a course of treatment; then evaluate the efficacy of the course. It apply Constant-Murley shoulder assessment to perform evaluation on frozen shoulder patients-which can scale from pains, activities of daily living (ADL), range of motion (ROM) and muscles. All data are statistically analyzed by using SPSS19.0 software. The measurement data is stated with the usage of mean± standard deviation (±s), to count data with constituent ratio (%) said.ResultsThe evaluation on the three group (Treatment Group, Control Group 1 and Control Group 2) of patients of different ages, genders, course of diseases and before treatments via Constant-Murley shoulder assessment through statistical test had not shown significant difference (P>0.05), its baseline is identical and it is comparable. After treatment, Out of 25 cases from the Treatment Group-9 marked cured, 11 marked distinct effective,4 marked effective,1 marked not effective, total efficiency marked at 96.0%; 25 cases of Control Group 1-7 marked healed,11 marked distinctly effective,5 marked effective,2 marked not effective, total efficiency 92%; 25 cases of Control Group 2-6 marked healed,8 marked distinctly effective,7 marked effective,4 marked not effective, total efficiency 84.0%. The evaluation on the three groups overall frozen shoulder patients via Wilcxon rank sum test, Treatment Group with Control Group 1 treatment efficiency is approximate (P>0.05), and, Treatment Group with Control Group 1 obviously perform better that with Control Group 2 (P<0.01, P<0.05).Pain:Via statistical analysis after treatment, three groups of patients pain level scores showed significant improvement, in compare to before treatment P< 0.01, inter-group comparism has not much difference P>0.05. Treatment Group and Control Group 1 in compare to before treatment is most significant, P<0.01; follow by, Control Group 2, P<0.05; further, Control Group 2 along Treatment Group in compare to Control Group 1 also showed significant difference, P<0.05. Activities of daily living (ADL):Via statistical analysis after treatment, three groups scores enhanced. Treatment Group is most significant in compare to before treatment, P<0.01; Control Group 1 and Control Group 2 in compare to before treatment is relatively poor, P<0.05; further, it is not statistically significant in comparison of Control Group 1 and Control Group 2 with before treatment, P>0.05.Range of motion (ROM):Via statistical analysis after treatment, three groups activity scores significantly improved. Treatment Group and the Control Group 2 is most significant, compared with before treatment, P<0.01, however the degree of improvement of Control Group 2 is not as Treatment Group, both group in comparison, P<0.05; Control Group 1 before and after comparison, P<0.05, it degree of improvement is relatively lower than Treatment Group and Control Group 2, comparison to Treatment Group P<0.01, comparison to Control Group 2 P<0.05.Muscles:Via statistical analysis after treatment, the three groups ipsilateral upper arm muscle strength scores were significantly improved, results compared with before treatment P<0.05, comparison between groups P>0.05. Constant-Murley shoulder assessment total scores:Via statistical analysis after treatment, the three groups total score were significantly improved, results difference in comparison with before treatment were significant, P<0.01 or P<0.05; Treatment Group compared with Control Group 1 and Control Group 2, P<0.05; Control Group 1 and Control Group 2 in comparison, P>0.05.ConelusionThe results suggest that:Joint mobilization in combine with three acupoints of shoulder, massage therapy combine with three acupoints of shoulder and three acupoints of shoulder warm acupuncturing have definite effect on treatment of frozen shoulder, however, the effect of joint mobilization combining with three acupoints of shoulder and massage therapy combining three acupoints of shoulder is significant, further it was superior to three acupoints of shoulder warm acupuncturing therapy. For pain, three methods of therapies are able to lessen the pain level of a shoulder coagulation disorder patient, and it is significantly effective. For activities of daily living (ADL), Joint Mobilization combining three acupoints of shoulder resulted the best, it is significantly better than massage therapy combining three acupoints of shoulder and three acupoints of shoulder warm acupuncture therapy; For range of motion (ROM), Joint Mobilization combining three acupoints of shoulder is better than massage therapy combining three acupoints of shoulder, three acupoints of shoulder warm acupuncture therapy, and, massage therapy combining three acupoints of shoulder is better than three shoulder of acupoints warm acupunture; For muscles, joint mobilization combining three acupoints of shoulder, massage therapy combining three acupoints of shoulder, three acupoints of shoulder warm acupuncture, all three therapies method results are identical, it does not show significant effect.
