Observation Of Curative Effect Of Ear Bloodletting Therapy Combined With Acupuncture On Idiopathic Facial Palsy

ObjectiveIn this study, using a randomized controlled methods to observe this clinical efficacy of the combine of ear-bloodletting therapy with acupuncture on idiopathic facial paralysis, evaluating the efficacy of ear bloodletting therapy in the treatment of idiopathic facial palsy, providing reference for its clinical treatment application and promotion.MethodsIn this study, all of the 60 patients were from the out-patient acupuncture department of the NO.1 Affiliated Hospital of our University, Guangzhou Uni. Of TCM during the 2014April to the next year’s March, which were proper for this study and volunteered to participate in and were randomized into different groups, acu-group(30 cases) and acu&ear bloodletting group(hereinafter referred to as test-group in shortly) (30 cases). In acu-group, using the routine acupuncture treatment, chose the main point:Yangbai (GB14)、Sibai (ST2)、Dicang (ST4)、Quanliao(SI18)、Jiache (ST6).Qianzheng、Yifeng (SJ17)、Siguan (Hegu(LI4)、Taichong(LR3))、Zhongzhu(SJ3), adding/reducing points according to different syndrome. In the early sometime of this disease’s process, using light and shallow needling skills, and after that early time using strong and deep needling skills by reinforcing and reducing way, with electro-acupuncture 2-3pairs and TDP light irradiation for the affected side at the same time, covering the eyes with sterile cotton ball to protect the cornea.30min per time, two days for 1 time,3 times/week is 1 course of treatment.In test-group, adding the ear bloodletting treatment to the acu-group treatment in both sides alternately. Evaluating House-Brackmann with facial nerve function rating scale (hereinafter referred to as the H-B rating) and Peripheral facial neuritis treated achievement score table (portmann score) (hereinafter referred to as portmann score) assessment for 3 times:at the 1st day when patients came to the hospital before the treatment, the 15th day of the disease course and after finishing the treatment of 4 courses. Using spss19.0 software to do the statistical analysis work after finishing the data collection.ResultIn this study, collecting dates for three times:the first time when the patient came before the treatment, the 15th day of the course, after the treatment(marked as T1,T2, T3), with P<0.05 as the standard of meaningful statistically evaluating significant.T1 includes general data of two groups of patients (including gender、age、course of disease、H-B rating、portmann score),we can say that the differences were not statistically significant by comparing the basic information, the two groups was comparable. Comparison between the two different groups:For T2、T3, there were no statistical specially some differences in H-B rating and for T2 test group was better than acu-group in portmann score (P<0.05). Intra-group comparison:bath of the two groups were statistically different of H-B rating and portmann (P<0.05), The two groups test group and acu-group total effective rate were a acceptable clinical score for 90%、80%, it means that the two groups have no that significant differences, for the total efficiency, both of the test and the acu-group were just more or less not that different between each other group.ConclusionBoth of the combine ear-bloodletting with acupuncture and conventional acupuncture in treating idiopathic facial paralysis (IFP) are effective, The ear bloodletting therapy is better than the routine acupuncture group in improving the transition period of quiescent period and the recovery period in improving portmann score, for improving the H-B rating and the total efficiency of two groups are close.
