Development Of A Competency Model For Family Nurses In China

With aging of the population、changes of disease spectrum and miniaturization in family structure, The demand for family nursing rise dramatically. In the future, GP contract system will drive family nursing needs in China constantly. family nursing had developed many years in our country, But we still lack competency standards for family nurse. We hope to establish a competency model for family nurse in China., Which not only meet China’s national conditions but also reflects future development trend.This study is divided into three parts, first of all, under China community health and cultural background, Analysis competency of family nurse from Real level;through field research, secondly, in order to supplement the results of the first part. Analysis competency of family nurse from expectation level through semi-structured interviews,thereby built the family nurse competency model initially, finally, revise and enhance the model by Delphi method.Part I:Field study of family nurse competency.Research method:using purposive sampling method select 3 community health service centers and 17 affiliated community health service station to ensure the representation. Collect data through participant observation, and analyze interview data using constant comparative analysis,..Result:Finally emerging 22 competency for family nurse in practicePart II:Qualitative interviews of Family Nurse competencyResearch method:select 10 family nurses,2 family doctors,5 community managers,3 family patients,2family caregivers,2 family nursing association director using snowball sampling, conducted a total of 24 semi-structured interviews, integrated multi-angle viewsResult:parsing out 34 family nurse competency, among all the competency parsed out by interview,20 have verified the competency from field results,and 14 new competency contribute to the final competency modelPart Ⅲ:Family Nurse qualified to build and revise force model.Research method:Delphi method,18 experts were selected in pourseResult:two rounds of expert consultation response rate was 100%, the expert authority of 0.759. The final formation of the family nurse competency model includes four major competency module,17 competence degrees,36 competency indicators.In conclusion:In this study, we get rid of the limitation of developing competency from a single perspective.Integrate family nurse competency model from both real and expection. eventually the competency model shows a good construct validity.Results of this study ia helpful to provided theoretical guidance to education and training,as well as it will promote the development of family nurses in practical significance.
