Objective:To investigate the operation method of the arthroscopic suture fixation treatment for tibial insertion avulsion fracture of posterior cruciate ligament, and to report the clinical effects. Methods:From January2012to September2013,53patients with posterior cruciate ligament avulsion fracture were treated, including33males and20females, whose ages ranged from14to52with the average age being32.7±5.2. Reasons for the injuries:24sports injuries,18traffic injuries and11daily life injuries. All of the injuries were unilateral, including19on the left knee and34on the right knee. The operation time was3to55days after the injury, averaging7.2±2.7days. During the operation, the fracture blocks were fixated under arthroscopy with high-strength orthopaedic twin sutures. After the operation, the intertion status of the fracture, and the stability and activity of the knee joint were observed. And the function of the knee joint was evaluated according to Lyscholm rating scale. Results:All of the53patients were followed up. According to the X-ray photographs of the knee joint after the operation, fractures were all united with no translocation. The preoperative Lyscholm score of53.6±5.7increased to93.7±3.4, the preoperative IKDC score of45.2±4.2increased to95.4±5.1,there was significant difference. The limitation of knee flexion occurred in5patients and severe knee joint fibrosis occurred in1patient, but the function were all restored after the arthroscopic surgical release during the second operation. Conclusion:The arthroscopic suture fixation treatment for tibial insertion avulsion fracture of posterior cruciate ligament is an effective, handy and safe therapeutic method.
