Clinical Study On Hyperbaric Oxygen Combined With Acupuncture Treatment On Post-stroke Depression

Purpose:to observe the clinical effect of hyperbaric oxygen combined with acupuncture on treating patients with Post Stroke Depression (PSD).Methods:60patients qualified for inpatient PSD were randomly divided into two groups:30cases in hyperbaric oxygen combined with acupuncture group and30cases in control group.Group of hyperbaric oxygen combined with acupuncture:12cases of male and18cases of female;the oldest80-year-old,the youngest40-year-old, the average age of62.10+8.99.Control group:14cases of male and16cases of female. The oldest78-year-old,the youngest42-year-old,the average age of62.03±9.67.In addition to conventional treatment for each group(Control of blood pressure,regulation of blood sugar and so on) and acupuncture treatment.Group of hyperbaric oxygen combined with acupuncture using hyperbaric oxygen treatment at the same time,with pressure2ATA,120minutes each time of each day.Acupuncture selected "jian nao tiao shen" acupuncture treatment;selected points:dazhui, shangxing, sishencong and jiuwei.30minutes for each time of each day.10times for one course of treatment,and two courses of treatment for each group.Two groups were taken HAMD and Activity of daily living scale (ADL) respectively before and20days after treatment.The data were analyzed by software SPSS18.0.Results:1. HAMD scale scores in group of hyperbaric oxygen combined with acupuncture before and after treatment were significantly different (p<0.01).Hyperbaric oxygen combined with acupuncture is effective in improving depression symptoms in patients with PSD.2. Activity of daily living scale scores in group of hyperbaric oxygen combined with acupuncture before and after treatment were significantly different (p<0.01).Hyperbaric oxygen combined with acupuncture is effective in improving depression symptoms in patients with PSD.3. The effects between two groups were significantly different (p<0.05),hyperbaric oxygen combined with acupuncture is more effective in improving depression symptoms in patients with PSD.Conclusion:1.Hyperbaric oxygen combined with acupuncture is effective in patients with PSD, which can improve depression symptoms and increase ability of daily living.2. Hyperbaric oxygen combined with acupuncture is worth applying in treating patients with PSD.
