Purpose:To observe the clinical effectiveness of Chinese medicine tripterygium glycosides and narrow spectrum uvb rays on treating the palmoplantar pustulosis.Method:Sixty patients were separated into two groups randomly. There were no statistical differences on age, sex and the disease course in two groups (P>0.05).The trial group (n=30) took the Chinese medicine tripterygium glycosides and received narrow spectrum uvb rays, while the control group took Acitretin capsules. At4and8weeks, the effect levels were compared between two groups. The skin lesion scores were calculated before treatment and at8weeks, and the margin of the latter minus the former in two groups was also calculated and compared, so that the effectiveness of the trial therapy could be determined.Result:The total effectiveness rate of two groups was not statistically different (P>0.05) at8weeks(the trial group96.67%, the control group93.33%.). At8weeks, the skin lesion scores of two groups both declined, which has no statistically deference between them (P>0.05). The adverse reactions occurred less in the trial group, compared with the control group. Conclusion:In patients with palmoplantar pustulosis, tripterygium glycosides and combination of narrow spectrum uvb rays can show no less therapeutic effect and better safeness than Acitretin capsule orally, which is a classic therapy for this disease, so this kind of combination is a prospective clinical therapy for palmoplantar pustulosis.
