Objective:1.To survey the situation of pediatric nurses’job burnout in Changde City.2.To analyze the influence factors of pediatric nurses’job burnout in Changde City.3.To understand the demand for EAP of pediatric nurses in Changde City.Methods:Totally,125Pediatric nurses from5hospitals in Changde City were surveyed through questionnaire on Jun,2013. The questionnaire included: individual basic status, Self-Efficacy Scale(GSES), the Maslach Burnout Inventory Human Service Survey(MBI-HSS) and Li Xiaomei version of nurse job stress scale. And the data was analyzed by SPSS17.0.Results:1. Present situation:The survey showed that the incidence of the three dimensions of job burnout in pediatric nurses was70.4%. The percentage of one positive dimension was34.4%, the percentage of two positive dimensions was24.8%and the percentage of three positive dimensions was11.2%. And in low personal accomplishment dimension,51.2%of the pediatric nurses showed a high degree of job burnout. In emotional exhaustion dimension,50.4%of them showed a high degree of job burnout. And in the depersonalization dimension, about24.8%of them showed a high degree of job burnout.2.Influence factors:(1) The job burnout of pediatric nurse with different age, different fertility state, different title, different educational background and different working years was different, and the difference had statistical significance. And the other socio-demographic variables had no effect.(2) The working pressure source affected all the dimensions of job-burnout, it was positively related to EE and DP, and negatively related to PA.(3)The correlation analysis showed that the self-efficacy scores were correlated with job burnout, negatively correlated with EE scores, positively correlated with PA scores and had no correlation with DP scores.(4)Multiple linear regression analysis showed that the main factors of the job burnout were the working pressure, self-efficacy level and whether to have kids.3.Demand:Nurses had demand for EAP services, the top three of the specific service contents were the work pressure relaxation(73.6%), the professional skills(55.2%) and the interpersonal communication guidance(52.8%).Conclusions:1.High job burnout existed among Pediatric nurses in Changde city.2.The job burnout of pediatric nurse with different age, different fertility state, different title, different educational background and different working years was different. The pediatric nurses had high working pressure and low self-efficacy level. The younger the age, the lower the self-efficacy level. There was certain correlation between working pressure, self-efficacy level and job burnout. The main affect factors were work pressure, self-efficacy level and whether to have kids3. Pediatric nurses in Changde city had high demand for EAP.
