| Objective:To observe the difference in the clinical effectiveness and health-related quality of life of allergic rhinitis through Bo’s abdominal acupuncture and traditional acupuncture treatment, objectively evaluate the clinical efficacy and application value of Bo’s abdominal acupuncture in the allergic rhinitis therapy.Methods:72 patients met the inclusion criteria as the research objects, who were divided into Bo’s abdominal acupuncture treatment group and routine acupuncture control group, each group 36 patients, according to randomized, controlled clinical trial methodology. The acupoints of Bo’s abdominal acupuncture treatment group:Yin Qi Gui Yuan (Zhong Wan, Xia Wan, Qi Hai, Guan Yuan), Qi Pang, Hua Rou Men, Shang Feng Shi Dian, Zhong Wan Shang.The acupoints of routine acupuncture control group:Ying Xiang, Yin Tang, He Gu as the main points, assist acupoints chosen by syndrome:Fei Shu, Feng Men, Feng Chi, TaiYuan added in the syndrome of Lung qi deficiency, FeiShu, Pi Shu, Bai Hui, Qi Hai, Yin LingQuan, Zu San Li added in the syndrome of Lung-Spleen qi deficiency, ShenShu, FeiShu, QiHai, Guan Yuan added in the syndrome of Kidney yang deficiency, Shang Xing, Feng Chi, QuChi, Wai Guan added in the syndrome of wind-heat invading Lung meridian.Each group retaining for 30 minutes,3 times every week,12 times in total. At the beginning and the end of treatment, record the score of signes, symptoms and the questionnaire of quality of life.While the treatment finished, determined efficacy according to the standard of curative effect evaluation of allergic rhinitis made by the Chinese medical association otolaryngology branch. Using SPSS17.0 statistical software, measurement data usingx±s, comparison between the normal distribution measurement data using T test, non-normal distribution data using non-parametric test, counting data to rate, comparison between groups using Wilcoxon test, P<0.05 for the difference was statistically significant.Result:(1) In the Bo’s abdominal acupuncture group, the score of signes and symptoms significantly reduced, there was significant difference (P<0.05) The quality of life also improved in the domain of physical, social, general quality of life and general feel of health, there was significant difference (P<0.05) when compared with before.At the same time, the quality of life in psychology domain and environment area improved as well, however, the difference was not statistically significant.(2) In the routine acupuncture control group, the score of signes and symptoms significantly reduced, there was significant difference (P<0.05).The quality of life also improved in the domain of environment, general quality of life and general feel of health, there was significant difference (P<0.05) when compared with before.Meanwhile, the quality of life in the domain of physical, psychology and environment improved as well, but the difference was not statistically significant.(3) The comoaration between two groups:the total effective rate of Bo’s abdominal acupuncture was 91.43%, the control group was88.23%, the rate of Bo’s was higher than the control group, but the difference was not statistically significant. From the aspect of signs and symptoms, there was significant difference (P<0.05), showing Bo’s abdominal acupuncture in the treatment of allergic rhinitis was significant better than the control group. On the hand of improving quality of life in Bo’s group, the score of psychology domain, social relation is higher than the control group, but lower than that in the domain of physical, environment, general quality of life and general feel of health, but the difference was not statistically significant. What’s more, statistics data showed that abdominal acupuncture was much better than the control group in the symptoms along with allergic rhinitis, including the nasal dry, eye itching, insomnia and loose stools, which the patients frequently suffered from.Conclusion:Bo’s abdominal acupuncture in the treatment of allergic rhinitis has obviously clinical efficacy, and that can relieve the symptoms along with allergic rhinitis, such as nasal dry, eye itching, insomnia and loose stools, in the meanwhile improve patients’ quality of life. Due to the characteristic of painless which is more easily accepted by patients, the therapeutics of Bo’s abdominal acupuncture is well worthy of clinical promotion and application.
