Clinical Research On Lumbar Muscles Strain By Moxibustion With Herbs And Scraping Therapy

ObjectiveThis study adopted the randomized method, taking the moxibustion with paste and scraping therapy as the control group, in order to observe the clinical curative effect of moxibustion with herbs and scraping therapy for treatment of lumbar muscles strain. We try to compare the curative effect of these two kinds of therapy to find out whether there is any difference and find a easy and effective method to treat lumbar muscles strain.MethodsThe60patients were randomly divided into two groups, treatment group and control group. There were30patients in the treatment group and the other30patients were in the control group. Patients in the treatment group were treated by moxibustion with herbs and scraping therapy, while the control group were treated by moxibustion with paste and scraping therapy. Shenshu、 Yaoyangguan were chose as treatment points. After two weeks of the treatments, we compared the Visual Analogue Scale (VAS) and the clinical scale of the two croups. Finally used the SPSS software to analyze the statistical data and made conclusions.Results1. In the total effect, the treatment group5cases were cured,12cases were markedly effective,9cases were effective and4cases were inefficacy, the total effective rate was86.7%, while the control group,3cases were cured,9cases were markedly effective,11cases were effective and7cases were inefficacy, and the total efficiency was76.7%. Compared two groups with the rank sum test, showed there is statistical significance (P<0.05), and indicated that the curative effect of treatment group had better curative effect than that of control group. 2.There was no difference on each factor and VAS clinical score of the two groups before the treatment (P>0.05).3. After treatment, both VAS and clinical score in the two groups descended (P<0.05).That indicated both treatment group and control group can improve the clinical symptoms of lumbar muscles strain.4. After the treatment, the descend rate of VAS and clinical score was much bigger than control group(P<0.05). It indicated that the clinical effect of the treatment group was better than the control group.ConclusionThis study shows that, moxibustion with herbs and moxibustion with paste for the patients with lumbar muscles strain both had improvement in their clinical symptoms, but the effect of moxibustion with herbs and craping therapy was significantly better than that moxibustion with paste and craping therapy. Moxibustion with herbs was an effective method, it was deserved to popularize.
