ObjectiveThe topics proposed clinical study, conducted shallow and row stab therapy to patients with hemifacial spasm observed facial muscles twitch recovery status, clinical study aims to validate the efficacy of acupuncture shallow and row stab across the muscle spasm and make evaluations, thus providing a simple and effective method of treatment operation for clinical.MethodsThis study is basedon the principles of evidence-based medicine and DME, Western diagnostic criteria for major reference version6," Otolaryngology Head and Neck Surgery"[1] to develop. Traditional Chinese medicine diagnosis standard reference the "Chinese medicine acupuncture therapeutics"[2]. These patients all come from the outpatient department of the First Affiliated Hospital of Guangzhou University of Traditional Chinese Medicine in2013-03to2014-01. These42patients met the inclusion criteria were randomly assigned to the treatment group and the control group21cases (off two cases. The actual total number is40cases. Control group and the treatment group all have20cases). The treatment group received acupuncture treatment of shallow and row stab, the control group received routine acupuncture therapy, treatment five times a week,10times as a course of treatment both groups were treated for30consecutive times. The result were assessed at the end of each treatment and follow-up time of three months with effect cohen scale, using SPSS17.0statistical analysis to compare these two groups.RusltsThe results showed that both groups’patients before treatment, gender, age, duration of general information, hemifacial spasm intensity and hemifacial spasm frequency level, the difference was not statistically significant (P> 0.05), baseline data comparable. Before the end of the third course of treatmentandcomparison groupsdescribed hemifacial spasm could significantly reduce the frequency, but the control group before the end of the third course of treatment with no significant difference in the spasm intensity level on the comparison group; treatment after the end of the third Compare the differences between the two groups was significant (p<0.05), indicating that as the increase in the number of treatments, the treatment group in relieving spasms intensity and frequency than the control group. On comparing the clinical efficacy, after all the treatment, the treatment group was90%, the control group was75%difference in efficacy between the two groups had statistically significant (P<0.05). As can be seen in both groups at the end of the third course of good clinical efficacy, overall view of the two groups shows that the total efficiency of the treatment efficiency of the dominant group, combined with comparative results rank sum test (P<0.05), indicating that the efficacy of the treatment group was significantly higher than the control group to be excellent.ConclusionShallow pin prick method and conventional body acupuncture can improve the symptoms of patients with hemifacial spasm. Shallow stab stitch row on symptom improvement hemifacial spasm intensity and frequency was significantly better than conventional body acupuncture. Shallow pin prick method effects are better than conventional body acupuncture, should be widely applied.
