Research On Medical Social Work Practicum

In recent years, a growing number of medical disputes and conflicts between doctors and patients making strained doctor-patient relationship, result in the two side’s contradiction. In China, the low level of development of medical social work, still in its infancy. All aspects need further development. Based on the increasing demand of medical social work in modern society, as to follow the trend of the times, and reserve professional medical social workers, training high professional quality, comprehensive ability of medical social workers are needed. Medical social work practicum as a most important way of training professional medical social workers, it has a crucial significance for putting forward to the development of medical social work.Based on MSW engaged in medical social work practicum at S Hospital, found the problem, analyze problems and propose proposal solutions to issues. The study took qualitative research like interviews, participant observation. Although less medical social work practicum of Master of Social Work was found, there was still some valuable information given academic guidance for writing this paper.During the course of professional practice, SD University focus on strengthening cooperation with S Hospital, it links to related resources, providing valuable medical social work practice opportunities for MSW. Medical social work as exotic to adapt to the development of China’s localization, meet problems and difficulties are inevitable. Such as:MSW play inaccurate roles; less internship positions offered by hospital; the cooperation of supervisor should be further strengthened; low public acceptance of medical social work. Sometimes, problems encountered in practice are can’t find answers from book’s theory. Because medical social work practicum are inseparable from social system and the theory of social support networks. Including MSW’s professional theory level, practical ability; school supervisor’s communication and guidance with students and medical social work supervisor; cooperation of clients; support as well as department doctors, nurses; social public recognition for medical social work and other support.By introducing and analyzing medical social work internship dilemma from reality, writer committed to study on the strategic approach and responds effectively to a variety of medical social work experience difficulties, prompting medical social work internship smoothly and cultivates more professional medical social worker, improve the doctor-patient relationship and promote the role of the doctor-patient communication. Master of Social Work should continue to improve their overall quality, professionalism and ability to enhance the role of identity; schools and hospitals need strengthen the supervision of communication and collaboration, arrange for internship positions reasonably; hospital strive to connect more social resources and government financial support; government and society need strength the medical social work advocacy, improve recognition of medical social work and so on.
