Analysis Of Prognostic Related Factors In High Myopia With Cataract After Phacoemulsification

Objective:To evaluate the correlation of axial length(AL), thickness of macularfovea, predicted visual acuity of the high myopia with cataract eyes beforeoperation with their BCVA after being perfomed phacoemulsification withintraocularlens (IOL) implantation.Methods：1.Our study selected21cases(36eyes)with high myopia who were performedphacoemulsification with IOL implantation in our hospital. There are not anyother history of eye diseases and any other eye surgeries in preoperative andpostoperative, as well as those with complicated surgeries. All cases had AL andthickness of macular fovea measurement before operation. All AL are longerthan26mm. Analyze the correlation of AL and the thickness of macular foveawith their BCVA. Their BCVAs were measured within3months after operation.2. Selected23cases(39eyes)with high myopia who were performedphacoemulsification with IOL implantation in our hospital. There are not anyother complications in the operation and after the operation. All cases hadLotmar Visometer evaluation before operation;And compared predicted visualacuity to the3months postoperative BCVA.Results：1. BCVA negative correlated with AL（r=-0.476，p=0.004）.2. The thickness of macular fovea showed a positive correlation with BCVA（r=0.375，p=0.027）.3. Statistical analysis showed a positive correlation between predicted visualand BCVA（r=0.668，P=0.000）.Conclusions:1. AL and the thickness of macular fovea are important predictive factors ofvisual acuity in high myopia with cataract eyes without macular pathology.2. The predicted visual acuities of high myopia with cataract eyes measured byLotmar Visometer are accurate compared with their BCVA.
