Cover plant is one of the important plant landscaping materials, and it has a goodeffect in improving the environment and beautifying the environment. Now cover plantspecies in the northern garden city is less than lawn, and there is some questions aboutthe poor ecological benefits, and the high cost in managing. So it can’t meet therequirements of construction in the process of China’s beautiful landscape. But the wildgroundcover plants are adaptable, biodiversity, fand has a low management cost.Othersthey also can improve the quality of landscaping in increasing the landscape, richingadministrative levels feels and the seasonal change. The species of Potentilla can satisfythe landscaping in the application by diversity, covering ability and different varietyadaptability under different environmental conditions. It is studied for Potentilla flagellaris Potentilla anserina in the adaptability in thepaper. The speed of sod, drought resistance, resistance to waterlogging, tramplingresistance and stain resistance are comprehensive analysis of the plant in order to providea basis for the application of groundcover plants in landscaping. And the main results areas follows:(1) It is studied for two species of Potentilla in transplanting planting. They arecalculated by15x15cm row spacing planting, and are plant coverage of90%, thenumber of days of Potentilla flagellaris is34d, and Potentilla anserine is41d.(2) The determination of waterlogging resistance and drought resistance choose therelative conductivity, the content of chlorophyll, superoxide protective enzyme activity, superoxide dismutase, malondialdehyde and other physiological indexes, combing withthe morphology of plants (turning yellow leaves, wilting time and leaf length, etc.), We canknow that two species of Potentilla have strong ability of resistance to water logging anddrought. The waterlogging resistance is greater than drought-resistant ability, and the waterstress resistant ability of Potentilla flagellaris is stronger than Potentilla anserine.(3) The paper analyzes the leaf number, leaf area, coverage, root weight, chlorophyll content, relative electric conductivity, POD, SOD activity and MDA contentof two species of Potentilla under the stress of trampling on change, and concludes thatPotentilla flagellaris grows well under the moderate degree of trample, and is affected bya certain degree, coverage decreased under the mild and severe trampled; Potentilla anserine is affected under moderate trample, and begans to appear significant difference, and moderate or severe trampled under growth severely affected, the difference is verysignificant under moderate or severe trample. So the trampling resistance degree ofPotentilla flagellaris is better than Potentilla anserine.(4) The paper analyzes the morphological growth index such as leaf area, longbranches and physiological indexes such as relative conductivity under the stress of shadeof two species of Potentilla, and analyzes the Pn, GS,and the releation of them. It isfound that Potentilla flagellaris has strong resistance to the shadow. The growth is best inthe light conditions of shade30%,and it is gradually restrained and can be normal growthin the light conditions of shade60%,and it is affected severely in the conditions of shade90%; The growth of Potentilla anserine is best in the light conditions under full lighttransmittance, and it is gradually restrained and can be normal growth in the lightconditions of shade30%, and it is affected severely in the conditions of shade60%,andthe light conditions of shade90%is severely suppressed, and grows poor.
