Ningdu yellow chicken is Chinese famous small meat quality local varieties, whichhas a prominent early maturity and good meat quality features. But so far, Ningdu YellowChicken is based on backyard free range rearing and the mode of production is single, which limits the further development of Ningdu yellow chicken industry. To explore theinfluence of production performance and meat quality feature in different ways to feedthe Ningdu yellow chicken, the test material was from the poultry house building ofJiangxi Agricultural University Select150,28days Ningdu yellow chicken hen, the hensaverage divided into free range rearing group (group S), half a barn feeding group (groupB) and caged rearing group (group L), and measure the body weight, daily gain and feedweight ratio of every two weeks for group B and group L. Each group raised to17weeksof age, each group was chosen10feathers chickens to determine the various performanceindicators of the rest. Main results were as follows:1. The effects on growth performance of Ningdu yellow chicken in different rearingsystems. There is important influence for growth performance of Ningdu yellow chickenin different feeding ways. In terms of weight, group L was higher than group B in thewhole breeding period, and which was extremely significant difference in the8th and10th weeks (P<0.01).In terms of daily gain, the daily gain of L in7-8weeks breedingstage is significantly better than that of group B (P<0.01),while group B in the growingstage of the11-12weeks is significantly higher than group L (P<0.05),but in the wholebreeding period L group is higher than group B. In addition to the9-10weeks, thematerial weight in other periods of group L is lower than that of group B. Although theaverage weight in119day age of group S are significant (P<0.05) lower than that ofgroup B and group L, but in the performance of body measurements, in addition to thepubic bone width, crown length and crown height, the rest of the indicators are betterthan the other two groups, and body length and straight shank circumference aresignificant difference (P <0.05).2. Effects of slaughter performance and viscera index on Ningdu yellow chicken indifferent feeding ways. There was significant influence for slaughter performance indifferent feeding way to Ningdu yellow chicken. In terms of the slaughter rate, group Land group B were very significantly superior to group S (P <0.01);the wings rate ofGroup B and L were significantly lower than group S(p <0.05);the abdominal fat rate ofgroup L was significantly higher than group S (P <0.05);the fat bandwidth of group Lwas significantly longer than group S(p <0.01), and group B was significantly longerthan group S (P <0.05).The index of the bursa of fabricius and spleen for group S werehigher than that of group B and L, and the index of the bursa of fabricius was up toextremely significant (P <0.01); the index of the muscular stomach for group S was significantly higher(P <0.01) than that of group L.3. Effects of intestinal mucosal morphology on Ningdu yellow chicken in differentfeeding ways. The results of duodenum, jejunum and ileum for group S were consistent, which showed the longest hairs、the shallowest Crypt depth、the thinnest Intestinal walland group B are second and each index in three treatment between the two are showing asignificant difference (P <0.01).4. Effects of muscle quality on Ningdu yellow chicken in different feeding ways. Interms of the crude fat and crude ash content for muscle, breeding way between the two ofthree group were very significant difference (P <0.01), in which the group S with thehighest crude ash content, followed by group B; but group L of chicken with the highestcrude fat content, followed by group B. The muscle moisture content of group L wassignificantly higher than that of group B and group S (P <0.01).The muscle proteincontent for group S and group B are significantly higher than group L(P <0.05).5. Effects of serum biochemical indexes on Ningdu yellow chicken in differentfeeding ways. The content of high density lipoprotein (HDL), glutamic oxaloacetictransaminase (GOT) and glutamic pyruvic transaminase (GPT) in serum of Ningdu yellowchicken of free range rearing mode were significantly higher than that of group B andgroup L(P <0.01).The content of cardiac enzymes (CK) and blood urea nitrogen (BUN)in serum of group S were significantly (P <0.05) higher than that of group B and groupL.In summary, there were different degrees of influence in growth, slaughtering, meatquality traits, small intestinal morphology and the serum biochemical indexes for Ningduyellow chicken in ways of the free-range, the half barn feeding and the caged. TheNingdu yellow chicken in free-range way can acquire better shape appearance, meatflavor and stronger vitality, but cannot compare with the half barn feeding and the cagedon growth performance and slaughter performance. Based on this, on the basis of theexisting single shed free-range, combined with the caged production mode can betterpromote the industrialization and the scale of development for the Ningdu yellowchicken.
