Food safety issue is the focus of world attention, and our country s hows increasing intense interest. on this issue in recent years. Wujiang District, Suzhou City, Jiangsu Province is located in the Yangtze River region, and it is one of China’s most economically developed regions. It s food production and consumption economy are active, and the food safet y supervision system has changed four times along with national food saf ety system reform for many years. Our current mode of regulation is "Ba sed on segmented supervision, combined with consolidated supervision ".Although current food safety control has achieved good results, differen t links of food safety supervision still have quite a few defects, which have a close relationship with the imperfection of current regulatory s ystem. Institutional reform and functional transformation scheme issued by the State Council in2013determines to imply supervision with manage ment of merger on food safety. This leaves a brand new development chall enge to improve local food safety regulatory system.This paper is divided into five chapters. The first chapter explains th e background, purpose and meaning of the theory, introduces current situ ation, ideas and the main methods of domestic and external researches. T he second chapter is an overview of the theory, introduces related theor ies, laws and regulations in the food safety regulatory field. The third chapter is the analysis of domestic and external regulatory model, intr oduces the development process of China’s food safety regulatory system, gives an explanation and comparison of international and external repre sentative practices, and analyzes of China’s food safety regulatory defi ciencies. The forth Chapter is an overview of the development, basic con tent, achievements, and the shortage of the existing regulatory system. Chapter Five is providing advices on the new round of institutional refo rm. At last, it summarizes the whole text, and looks forward to the futu re.This study is intended to introduce and compare the theory and practice of d omestic and external food safety supervision, so as to analyze the advantages a nd disadvantages of food safety regulatory model in Wujiang District, Suzhou Ci ty in the presence.
