With the development of the world economy, the intensity of the energy crisis, and the deterioration of environmental quality, more and more countries will focus on renewable energy. As the most abundant renewable energy resource, more and more attention has been paid to solar energy for its incomparable advantages of environment protection, convenient transportation and low construction. In the development of solar energy, using solar energy to generate electricity is the most extensive way. Solar power tower technology has become the preferred way among solar thermal power with characteristic of high efficiency, easy storage, high transfer efficiency of the solar thermal conversion, high land utilization and so on. The heliostat, one of the most important part of the solar power tower system, greatly affects the efficiency of power generation systems. In our country the solar thermal power technology starts recently, so the issues of the heliostat need more research and improvement.This thesis focuses on the researches of sun motion and heliostat motion. A heliostat debugging and control system based on an ARM is proposed. The Android smartphone which is used as a handheld heliostat debugging host computer has the functions of algorithm computation, data storage and processing applications by writing Android applications. Furthermore, by writing the main program based on ARM processor, the sun-tracking control strategy of heliostat is implemented. The main work presented as following:Firstly, the sun motion model and the heliostat sun-tracking model are established on the basis of the rule of the sun motion and optical reflection principle. The algorithm module is studied and designed by the angle of sun and heliostats.Secondly, the Android application of handheld debugging systems is achieved by combining with lower computer researching the development process and the method of Android applications.Thirdly, according to theoretical analysis system requirements for data computing rate and accuracy, selection of the main control processor of the lower computer and the determination of host computer wireless transmission mode is completed. Then, on the basis of the above, the lower computer designation of the heliostat debugging control system is finished.Finally, the actual test data which is provided by the system is used to compare the test results with other algorithms and software and verify the correctness of the algorithm and accurateness of the calculation of the software part and analysis feasibility of the system.After experimental testing of hardware and software, the correctness of the ideas of heliostat control system field debugging, development process, control method, hardware and software designed is verified. The whole system has such characteristics as security, stability, strong anti-interference, and simple structure ability.
