Coupling Analysis And Its Application In Knowledge Analysis

At the end of October in 2015, Chinese academy of sciences released a research front in 2015, including the top 100 of the research frontiers and the top 49 of the emerging research frontiers.In 1965, Price first proposed this concept "research frontier",and in recent years, the public had paid more and more attentionsto it.Explore the research frontier of the literature metrology method including: co-citation analysis and co-wordsanalysis, direct citation analysis, coupling analysis, etc. Among them,theco-citation analysis and the coupling analysisare applied most widely, they not only can help scholars to understand the current development situation and forecast the future trend, but also provide scientific basis for the government to formulate relevant policy.co-citationanalysisis one of the types of co-occurrence analysis, through the co-occurrence relation, it can expose information correlation and characteristics of the content of the implied meaning. Relationship of co-occurrence in this foundation, brings up the concept of multiple co-occurrence, multiple co-occurrence is a kind of coupling. In China, especially in the field of library and information, related research is less.Coupling relationship mainly includes biographic coupling, periodical coupling,author coupling, and subject coupling, etc.Overseas and domestic related research are not many, also lack of integrity and systemic, mainly it is on a particular coupling relationship and doing some related research. This article is based on the existing fragmented research, on the coupling analysis method and its application to do a comprehensive system analysis. The main content includes the following chapter:The first chapter, through the introduction of the purpose and significance of research, and the research status at domestic and abroad, which leads to the research methods and software toolsused in this paper, on the basis of predecessors’ research results, put forward the process of innovation in coupling analysis. The second chapter implies the related theory of coupling relationship from two aspects. On the one hand,from the characteristics of the coupling relationship, by comparing with other similar relations, it reflects its advantages and disadvantages; On the other hand, from the kinds of coupling relationship, and using the four coupling relationships to lay a theoretical basis for below. The third and fourth chapter based on the coupling relationship of empirical research. It illustratesthe implementation steps of the method, and confirms the coupling relationship between disciplines to explore the feasibility of the internal and external structure, adding the convicdon of application research of coupling analysis. In the process of empirical research, we found that the coupling analysis of deficiencies,which will be pointed out in the fifth chapter, and forecastits development trend. The sixth chapter summarizes the full contents, and illustrates the lack in research.This article based on the coupling analysis method, synthetically using the factor analysis, cluster analysis, multidimensional scaling analysis, and social network analysis,etc. Combining theoretical analysis and empirical research to proof the coupling analysis’ effectiveness of the internal and external structure in one subject, so as to provide reference for future research, promote the development of the diversification of coupling analysis, and widely used in the field of library and information.
