With the quick development of electronics industry,Electrostatic discharge become more and more dangerous to various microelectronic devices and electronic systems which has become one of the imperative problem needed to resolve.To master the coupling mechanism and the relationship of energy coupling between electronic system and ESD is the pivotal way to solve the problem.Currently,we do not master all rules of ESD and have no suitable test tools,the study on the energy coupling between electronic system and ESD is still in its beginning stage,so that we can borrow little from the present results of experiments and methods abroad and home,and it is also lack of theoretical and experimental basis for the protective design of electronic system against ESD.In order to keep away from the deficiency of ESD theory and the unfit test tools for ESD radio field,a homemade PCB with certain function is used as the electronic system under test in this paper,and try to research the energy coupling rules between the system and ESD through the electrical parameter of the system under test and electrostatic discharge voltage.It is an experimental innovation,in former research, the coupling rules between the electronic system and ESD was learned from the study on the transient process of ESD and its radio field.However,with the restrictions of theoretical and experimental conditions,the research is still not comprehensive and perfet.The author made the experiments of contact discharge to the horizontal coupling plate(HCP) with the homemade PCB on the ESD immunity test platform defined by IEC61000-4-2,and individually measured the coupling voltage peaks and the coupling current peaks of an input of the sensitive device in the PCB in different way of placement,different discharge voltage and different polarity of the discharge.The author analyze and get some rules between the coupling voltage peaks,the coupling energy and the discharge voltage,the electricity parameter of the coupling circuit in the PCB when the discharge mode is contact.The theoretical analysis and discussion for the experimental results were made in this paper,and also set up a coupling pattern and simulated the pattern after analyzing the main coupling path and coupling mechanism;through comparing the simulation results and experimental results,the author proved the theoretical analysis and the simulation pattern.On this base,the author picked up the coupling voltage peaks and coupling current peaks in the PCB led by the radio of spark discharge in the discharge gun,and summarized and discussed the energy coupling rules between the PCB and the spark discharge,and made the theoretical analysis for the experimental rules.At the end, the author drew a comparison between the coupling rules of spark discharge and those of contact discharge,then pointed out the similarities and differences.Finally,the author summarized the experimental results,and provided certain theoretical and experimental basis for the protective design of the electronic equipments against ESD,also prospected the subsequent research in this paper.
