Realization And Optimization Of Library Management System Based On Struts

In recent years, with the development of the society, people’s needs for spiritual prosperity have been increasing. More and more people are trying to enrich their lives by way of reading in libraries. In order to cater to people’s needs, libraries constantly store, classify and manage various kinds of literatures and materials. Furthermore, as the arrival of informational era, people are required to keep pace with the time, eliminate inefficient and backward management style,and design a kind of new management system integrating with all kinds of functions so as to satisfy people’s daily needs. Library management system is an integrated management system which is constituted of functions such as book loan management, system management, book warehouse management and so on. However, the response speeds of some library management systems are declining for the rapid growth of the amount of ordinary readers and the enrichment of book resources. Therefore, on the basis of a new design, the thesis makes some optimizations on the library management system, mainly from the perspective of database.In chapter 1, the thesis introduces the background of the research and the current status of development on library management system as well as database optimization at home and abroad.Then, in chapter 2, the thesis illustrates the key technology and theoretical basis of this system,which mainly focuses on an introduction of the Struts 2, the applied framework of this system and on a comparison between the frameworks of Struts 2 and Struts.In chapter 3 and chapter 4, the thesis analyzes the Struts 2-based library management system in details and illustrates its five functions, including the system inquiry and management,users management, books and circulation management, and makes UML models for its main working procedures. The technological scheme of the system is the Browser/Server(B/S)management platform, with object-oriented analysis and design and the JSP language. Besides,Oracle 11 g is adopted in the design of the database.Finally, in chapter 5, the thesis makes some optimized designs for the system, and proposes an optimized scheme for the Oracle database, mainly by tuning and optimizing the outer environment, system parameter, and SQL sentences, etc.The library system in this thesis is of superior qualities for its full-featured functions,friendly design of interfaces, as well as convenient application, management and maintenance for users and managers. Through optimizing operations, the query speed has been greatly accelerated, which will do great help to improve library service quality and management efficiency.
