With the rapid development of science and technology, such as computer technology and communication technology, the level of automation in water conservancy project is constantly improving. It is imperative for pumping station to implement automation and information management. The automation and information management system is combined with measurement, control, protection, management and other functions. It not only can ensure the pumping station runs reliably, but also can reduce the operating cost and lighten labor intensity greatly and comprehensively improve the management level of pumping station.The west fork electric power irrigation pumping station (western electric pumping station) in Lanzhou city, Gansu province is taken as the research object and the automation and information management system for pumping station is researched in this thesis. The system mainly uses the techniques of programmable logic controller (PLC), industrial automation configuration, sensors, network communication and computer to complete remote monitoring, data sharing, information remote browsing and other functions. It can detect the operational states and parameters of pumping equipment, monitor the system devices, and have the emergency handling capabilities.First of all, the research status and development trend of the pumping station automation and information management system is introduced and the functional requirements of the system are analyzed in this thesis. And the main function, the overall structure and design of the system are determined.Secondly, considering the environmental complexity of the access network and the higher requirement of bandwidth and other factors in system, the optical fiber ring network is used to build the various pumping stations local area network (LAN). And the MASP (Multi-Service Access Platform) technology is applied to realize the communication between the various field measure and control units, management centers and the remote pumping station scheduling and information management center. Eventually, all the data are gathered to the remote pumping station scheduling and information management center.Once again, due to the large number of field pumping stations and the relatively wide range of geographical distribution, then the automation and information management system is divided into three layers as follows:the field control layer, the data processing layer, the supervisory control layer. The field control layer uses PLC, sensors and other devices to acquire and process the data, and according to a certain format, store the data in the server of the data processing layer through the system network. The data processing layer is the data source of the supervisory control layer. Ultimately system achieves the purpose of the system data sharing and information remote transmission.Finally, in order to guarantee the safe and reliable operation of the western electric pumping stations, improve the management of the pumping station, the system not only set up the field pumping station management system based on C/S model in every field pumping station management center, but also set up the Web server of the pumping station information management system based on B/S structure in the pumping station scheduling and information management center. With the ASP.NET, ADO.NET and other technologies, the pumping station information management system based on B/S structure connects to the remote database. And the system can achieve dynamic display operational states of every the field pumping station equipment, the information of hydrology, alarm and others in webpage, query hydrology and alarm history information, the report display and printing and other functions. The system achieves centralized monitoring for all pumping stations, control and management purposes. Users only need to use the browser to access Web server of the system to monitor the operational states of the all main and branch canal pumping stations units and other equipment, and to find out hydrology and alarm information.
