Research On The Mode Of Old Community Environmental Renewal Based On The Public Participation

The environmental renewal of the old community is a kind of city activities which integrated with complexity, professional and social cognition. This kind of city activities not only to improve the living environment for residents, also need to ease the contradictory relationship between human and environment, and this have a profound and direct impact on harmonious social development. The environmental renewal of the old community in China tend to be mechanical and blindly and lack of public participation. The lack of public participation not only makes the old community environment update effect not suits the residents’demand, also cause the waste of social resources, and led to more public dissatisfaction with the government, intensified the social contradictions.In recent years, Urban and Rural Planning Law of the People’s Republic of China pay more attention on public participation, the public participation in Urban planning and construction have more fully guaranteed. However, the public participation of urban planning and construction in current development is still in its preliminary stage of development. The depth and breadth of relevant research still limited, and does not have substantial impact on the decision-making and implementation. Therefore, to promote public participation in urban activities requires more attention and practice in order to achieve the fundamental purpose of public interest.The old community is the research subject in this paper, using the theories and methods of sociology, through the perspective of public participation, study and explore the mode and mechanism of the public participation in the old community’s environmental renewal, Analysis the importance and significance of public participation in old community’s environmental renewal and other related city activities.In this paper, the study of old community’s environmental renewal mode and mechanism based on public participation mainly from several following aspects:(1) From the perspective of reality demand and rational judgment, proposed the research background, and briefly describes the purpose and significance of research; (2) By defining the core concepts such as "old community", "public participation", and summarizing the development of domestic and foreign relevant research and practice, provides basic theoretical foundation for the later research. (3) Using development experience of foreign countries and regions as the case to analyzed and summarized its public participation in the development process of community development, involving the scope, modalities and organizational mechanisms, summarized its enlightenment to China; (4) Analyze the existing model and problems in China’s current old community’s environmental renewal, And proposed mode framework based on the foregoing case study. (5) Use Yao-Hai district as a practical case to study on the mode of the old community’s environmental renewal based on public participation.
