In recent years, theme park has become an essential part of modern tourism resources. Disneyland has officially established in Hong Kong and Shanghai. The construction of universal studios in Beijing is also in the processing. Large theme parks are sweeping into the domestic market. The great influence of theme parks and the great number of Chinese population will lead to high passenger flow and passenger flow concentration, which means safe operation of theme park with its supporting transportation facilities, will be urgent issues.The application of microscopic simulation technology of pedestrians is essentially a pre-evaluation and a forward-looking amendment to high passenger flow and passenger flow concentration. The application of pedestrian simulation technology in large theme parks can optimize the design of the scheme, make up the risk factors of the design vulnerabilities, and provide guarantee for the safe operation of the project. However, it is not widely used in domestic engineering projects at present. In this paper, the following studies are carried out, the engineering design scheme is simulated by using the microscopic simulation technology of pedestrian, and the corresponding results are obtained:1) Plane layouts of large-scale theme parks all over the world are collected. The arrangement forms of transportation facilities for large theme parks are classified by the classification of travel habits and traffic facilities. According to the differences in travel habits, the layout will be classified as America model and Asia-Europe model. According to category of the traffic facilities, the layout will be classified into centralized arrangement, classified arrangement and scattered arrangement.2) Combined with survey data, the analysis of relevant materials of passenger flows, the capability of Automatic Ticket Vending Machine, Stop Gate Machine and Security Check Machine are determined. The basic parameters of pedestrian behavior characteristics, the distribution of pedestrian arrival time and the proportion of the subway ride are obtained. In addition, the paper also does some research on the microscopic behavior of pedestrians. This provides methods and data for simulation modeling.3) The cellular automata model, lattice gas model, magnetic model and social force model are analyzed, moreover, the simulation model is selected according to the simulation requirement of large theme parks. Based on the simulation model and software characteristics, the suitable simulation platform is selected. Furthermore the simulation platform is studied to provide the way of simulation modeling.4) Passenger flow of theme parks is simulated combined with domestic engineering practices. And the weak link of the plane layout and layout defects of traffic facilities are analyzed in order to put forward corresponding optimization measures and simulation tests on the optimization effect, and provide reference for engineering projects.
