Urban development in China has entered the inventory planning stage,in the micro level,carving the old center of the city not only needs conventional planning tools,but requires a combination of quantitative and scientific techniques and methods for accurate planning.There appears new requirements for urban planning and construction,and there is a demand also necessary to learn from the experience of other related disciplines and technologies,in order to achieve scientific,accurate and efficient updating and optimization in old town.In the context of rapid urban expansion and development of motor vehicle traffic,on the one hand the traditional pattern of the old center performs unadapted for this kind of transportation,on the other hand,alleviating contradiction of such traffic is often accompanied on taking up pedestrian space and deprivation of benefits to pedestrians.It is the problem that makes pedestrian environment in the central area of high intensity and population deteriorating,which is particularly evident in the traditional area.Redevelopment of traditional area will be an important opportunity to promote the urban renewal,and the study of district walking path organizations,microscopic space design and supporting management measures is significant.Through literature review the thesis tries carding environmental factors on pedestrian district,conducting classification analysis of typical crowd behavior characteristics in business zone,and comparing their preference in route choice,and then gave arguments on spatial structure adjustment of the shopping district,pedestrian network organization,walking path arrangement,traffic control measures as well as logo design and other aspects,which aimed at improving the environment for better walking experience in the central business district of old town.Harbin Qiulin business district is selected as the research object.Firstly I mapped Qiulin pedestrian environment by measuring the length,width,flat shape,facilities layout,and green space distribution,investigated the points of business interesting distribution and its commerce structure,and carried statistics of different calibers such as the type of POI,commerce type,number density,size density and so on.Then I combined the above with the structural characteristics of the walking network quantified by space syntax,and classified the objective environmental factors into four aspects of spatial structure,space environment,business environment,and traffic environment.And then I carried regression analysis of these factors and pedestrian flow of peak traffic in normal weekend building pedestrian flow distribution forecast model to create microscopic pedestrian simulation model by AnyLogic.I used the two models for simulating the adjusted walking network to verify the effectiveness of reconstruction plan;Secondly,by studying different types of walkers' route choice habits and characteristics and combining with revealed preference theory,I clarified their needs for the pedestrian environment;At last,towards the pedestrian environment problems in Qiulin,I determined the spatial structure adjustment methods,pedestrian network organization program,and walking paths arrangement for different kinds of walkers,and brought out the corresponding environmental design,logo design requirements,as well as the traffic control mode.Through the empirical research on Qiulin walking paths,it provides reference for the pedestrian paths research and planning in commercial district.
