This article is on basis of China Nuclear Power Engineering Co,.Ltd (CNPE) Qinshan Nuclear Power Plant Phase Ⅱ Unitl & 2 DCS KIT/KPS system upgrade project, a discussion and conclusion is proceeded during the common island DCS system, KIT/KPS system upgrade design, integration and commissioning.CNPE Qinshan NPP Phase Ⅱ Unit 1&2 are Chinese first domestic original designed and manufactured 660MW pressurized water reactor units, it is the first units applied China original designed digital control system in KIT and KPS systems. However, restricted by the domestic DCS engineering experience in NPP, and system engineering design defections, moreover, this DCS system was applied in 1998 which has been implemented for 15years, the system hardware failure rate became higher, some spare parts are out of manufacturing, and some spare parts failure rate are very high. Therefore the system upgrade is imperative.This upgrade aimed at old DCS and KIT/KPS system defections, power distribution and functional redistribution optimization. Besides, this upgrade also improved KIT system algorithm accuracy and KPS logic function which makes the power plant safety supervision function more reliable.The general upgrade scheme focused on more practical, more reliable and more advanced:Common island DCS sytems, plant computer information system (KIT) and plant safety supervision panel (KPS) apply digital instrumentation system platform; all upgrades implementation were conduct step by step in order not affecting the original system interfaces.The objectives are as follow:1) DCS、KIT/KPS function optimization, endeavoring not changing the operation habits in order to avoid operator confusion;2) Cabinet and panels civil construction are kept the same, signal cable interfaces kept the same as well;3) Hardware standardization, reduce the spare parts spices and quantity;4) Self-diagnosis function of the upgraded systems;5) Optimization of MMI system, leading the digitalized instrumentation times;6) Allowance of digital interfaces extension, help the operators operation transfer from digital-analog method to digital method.
