With the development of computing and I&C systems technology, digital control systems are gradually used in a main control room in nuclear power plant, which changes the relationship between human and machine under digital information display interface, and causes the contradiction between massive information and limited display capability on the information display interface of the main control room in nuclear power plant. Main control room is the control center of a nuclear power plant, where happen most of the human-machine interactions, it is easily to cause human errors. Information display is a core element of human-machine interfaces in complex process control systems, it is extremely important to the operators to capture the information on the interface and complete relevant tasks, so the research on information display characteristics in digital control room becomes one of the most important research contents of human reliability analysis.The goal of researching the information display characteristics ina digital control room in nuclear power plant is to design suitable interface that can help the operators capture the information and to reduce the human operator's workload and to improve the reliability of the main control room in nuclear power plants.This paper analyzed the characteristics of information display in a main control room and understood the operator's information processing model in a digital control room. An information presentation ratio experiment based on information entropy theory and operator ' s information processing model in a digital control system was conducted.This research also investigated the effects of information display ratio and information presentation ratio and data refreshment ratio on operator's information capture performance. Finally, the experimental data was analyzed and processed by relevant mathematical statistics method.The results suggest that:(1)striking differences of the information presentation ratio exists between experimental groups and control groups,data refreshment speed and information amount size have a marked impact on information presentation ratio, obtain the information presentation ratio under different data refreshment speed through experiment;(2)the major and minor order of the three factors to effect operator's information capture performance are information display ratio,information presentation ratio and data refreshment ratio;(3)information display ratio and information presentation ratio are sensitive to operator's information capture performance,but there are no significant difference in operator's information capture performance among the three levels of data refreshment ratio;(4)The best combination of three factors-levels is that information display ratio:56.4bit,information presentation ratio:9.4bit,data refreshment ratio:3s.The results of this research build the foundation for the information display design of the digital main control room.
