Digital Control System is the neural information and control center for nuclear power plant, it is important to ensure nuclear power plant safe, reliable, stable, economical operation and improve the level of production management. But for a long time this critical system is monopolized by the foreign supplier, Tian wan nuclear power plant and Ling Ao II nuclear power plant which have been put into operation in China both used AREVA’s safety digital platform TXS and SIEMENS’s non-safety digital platform TXP. This situation does not meet the national strategy requirements for nuclear power equipment localization, so it is imminent to realize the nuclear plant digital control system equipment localization and design independency. At present, the internal newly-built nuclear power plants have begun using the domestic digital control system.Based on the work practice of the nuclear plant non-safety digital control system localization and independency, the author analyzed deeply about the nuclear plant digital control system, and achieved certain results. At present, the non safety digital control system, which has the domestic independent intellectual property rights, has been successfully used in nuclear power plants in China.The first part, this paper introduces the nuclear power plant’s development of I&C system, mainly from the general situation of DCS system development, system application, system composition and system characteristics of some aspects, So that people can further understand the nuclear plant digital control system. The second part, this paper mainly analyzes security classification principle and safety classification method of the nuclear plant digital control system. Finally, this paper introduces the realization schemes for PWR nuclear power plant digital instrument and control system at home and abroad, and from the aspects of system design, equipment design and the structure design, proposes the optimization and innovation for non safety digital instrument and control system, which has been successfully applied to HONGYANHE nuclear power plant and NINGDE nuclear power plant.
