Quantitative Research On Spatial Characteristics Of Historic Village In Jinhua

Historic village is a precious historical wealth which carried with historical developing process andsocial attribution for an area. Also it is important for a modern village construction. This dissertationanalyzes and compares the space of Jinhua historic villages with the way of space syntax, which aim tointroduce the space syntax into the research of village space and explore the quantitative characteristics.At the same time, this method will enrich the research methods of the village space and gain theinspiration for a modern village space reconstruction.In this paper, the research divided into seven parts. Based on the analysis and sum-up of references,field research and the space syntax theory, this dissertation makes a system study on space influentialfactors, integral space quantitative characteristics, local space quantitative characteristics of Jinhuahistoric villages. According to the research results and research methods, some methods of the modernvillage planning and construction are put forward. The significance of the dissertation lies in thefollowing three aspects:(1) Sum up the space influencing factors of historic village in Jinhua. According to the compositionof village space and combining with the instances, this dissertation makes a system discuss about theinfluencing factors of village space from three aspects, and also analyzes the forms of village spaceunder the different influential factors.(2) Sum up the quantitative characteristics about the integral space and local space of historicvillage in Jinhua. Through counting the main syntactic variables, such as connectivity value, controlvalue, depth value, integration value and intelligibility of the whole structure of village space, entrancearea, street spaces, public space and public buildings space, this dissertation discusses the spatial feature,and also compares and concludes the results of these analyses. Comparing the relationship betweenquantitative characteristics of integral space and village attractive factors, this dissertation will researchthe relatedness between them.(3) Put forward some methods of the modern village planning and construction combining theresearch results and methods,. Based on the conclusions of the space quantitative analysis, thisdissertation put forward three methods of village planning and construction: the spatial organization andfacility layout, streets control, public building space reconstruction; through the use of research methods,one conclusion is drawn: the Space syntax can be used as the design guide, comparative method, evaluation standard at the village planning and construction.
