Since the reform and opening up, the development of occupation education reform of our country has made great achievements, the rapid development of higher occupation education, occupation ability of colleges based improved significantly, the combination of production and teaching, school enterprise cooperation is deepening constantly, constantly strengthen the industry enterprises to participate. But, we must see soberly, our country occupation education still exist many problems, for example: social attraction is not strong, the idea of development is relatively backward, lack of company’s participation, relatively old in talent cultivation mode, based capability is relatively weak, the hierarchical structure is not reasonable, the basic system is not perfect, internationalization degree is not higher, which are reflected in occupation the education system is not adapt to speed up the transformation of economic development requirements. Seize the opportunities for development, standing on the global economic, social and educational development height, to the modern occupation education system, the modern concept of strategic vision and international perspective construction, accelerate the development of the modern occupation education, which are the inevitable choice for promoting education fairness, the basic realization of modernization and the construction of human resources power.Application should be adhered to by the higher vocational education as the fundamental school-running orientation. It should strengthen the application type professional construction, construct a discipline system and curriculum structure corresponding to the development of the industry, enrich the teaching forms, and reinforce the practical teaching. The higher vocational education should attach importance to provide the society with more advanced scientific and technological achievements of application value, satisfy the industrial requirements, and cultivate application type high-quality talents. As the industrial standards are constantly updated, the original curriculum and textbooks must be adjusted to meet the latest industrial standards, so as to cultivate application type talents of advanced technology and good comprehensive quality for the enterprises. Architectural engineering majors of higher vocational education should break through the original subject system, optimize and integrate the curriculum content, and construct a construction process oriented curriculum system, on the basis of improving the vocational ability of the teachers. The school should carry out in-depth cooperation with enterprises on the basis of benefit sharing and strengthen the construction of practical training base both in and out of the school. The target orientation of talents training should be determined, and talent cultivation programs should be revised according to the investigation and analysis pertaining to the industry and construction enterprises.This paper analyzes the current background for the development of Shandong Urban Construction Vocational College. The author discusses the reform of talent training mode, the construction of core curriculum system, the cooperation between the school and the enterprises, and the promotion of teachers’ vocational ability under the framework of vocational education group etc, combining with the reality of certain Higher Vocational College of Shandong province.
