Energy is an important material foundation for China’s economic and social development.With the current society’s growing demand for energy and the energy-saving emission reduction targets, the use patterns of reasonable and efficient energy gradually get people’s attention, the green building of energy saving and environmental protection and the appropriate air-conditioning system came into being. The technology of ground source direct cooling directly use of low-grade energy and is a cold source technology of energy saving. The technology of water storage can "load shifting" and can balance of power and can lower operating costs. Integrated application of these two technologies can give full play to their strengths, and to optimize the design,and to implement the system’s efficiency and energy saving operation.Firstly, this dissertation introduces the the basic principles, the components, the features and the applicability of the ground-coupled heat pump system, ground source direct cooling system and water storage systems. And then analyzes the feasibility of using ground source direct cooling system in summer condition and the advantage of energy-saving. So it is necessary to integrate application of these two system.Secondly, an office building in Jinan has been taken as an example, using TRNSYS software to simulate the hourly air-conditioning load for one year and the hourly air-conditioning load for the designing day. These result provides the basis of the design for the ground source direct cooling system and water storage system. In the design process, some different methods of calculating the ground heat pipe length has been introduced, and then the ground pipe length has been obtained by the method of computer simulation. In addition, the transient cold and hot water mixing effect of the water storage tank has been numerically simulated by using CFD software to verify the layered effects of the tank.Finally,from analying the operating results of a complex air-conditioning system in the practical engineering,we get the actual operation characteristics of the ground source direct cooling system in a cooling season and the actually layered effect of the water storage tank.Compared with the economic analysis of the composite and conventional air-conditioning systems,we have drawn a conclusion that the composite air-conditioning system had a shorter recovery period, which can demonstrate that the composite air-conditioning system has good economic and social benefits.
