Domestic and foreign aviation accident investigation demonstrates that mental healthplays an important role in the safe, comfortable and efficient flight. This topic comes fromCivil Aviation Administration key project ‘The pilot psychological characteristics andbehavior guide’(Approval No: MHRD201116), aims to develop the mental health surveyscale for the special group of civil aviation pilots based on the domestic and foreign relativeliteratures.Based on the basis of the domestic and foreign relative literatures, expert interviewmethod and Delphi method was applied to construct the civil aviation pilot’s mental healthevaluation dimension, including9primary dimensions,33secondary dimensions of42dimension. The data statistical analysis showed small discrete of each dimension data andhigh consistency of expert opinions. Through exploratory factor analysis, the theoreticalstructure of civil aviation pilots mental health scale was constructed and determined,including9scales, such as job satisfaction, personality, emotional state, coping styles, emotional stability, professional ethics, adaptive capacity, rational judgment and cognition andvolitional quality, which sum up to155items. The confirmatory factor analysis showed agood fit between the scale theory structure model and the test variables, which supported thetheoretical structure of the scale. The Cronbacha coefficient and test-retest correlationcoefficient was used to test scale reliability, the Cronbacha was between0.703and0.875,test-retest coefficient of dimension and the total measurement was between0.344and0.934,and P <0.05. The Analysis of the structure validity and criterion-related validity showed thatthe coefficient of the subscales was between-0.007-0.575, the coefficient of dimension andthe overall Cronbacha was between0.309-0.840, and the criterion validity score was bwtween0.421-0.748, and p<0.05. The research of reliability and validity showed ideal homogeneityreliability between projects in the text scale and high internal consistency, with high stabilityand consistency across time, indicating that the scale had good reliability, validity and met therequirement of psychometrics. By using the standard norm development method, the standardfive-point norm scale was developed. This study was dominated by the positive psychology theory and Combined with thetraditional theoretical perspectives, based on data driven, innovative to build the mental healthdimensions of civil aviation pilots, and to develop mental health scale and norm for civilaviation pilots. Through the research, it demonstrated that this research had high theoreticaland application value.
